Where To ?

I will be fair,Nevereddy had limited game time and that' s probably a good thing, as he has terrible ball control,poor defence and a lack of pace.If you are not convinced go and have a look at some of his efforts
from last season.Even Sheens wouldn't have a bar of him in FG by the end of last season!

Backrow is a worry. They lack impact. I agree with a previous post suggesting Fulton and Anasta share a spot- with one on the run on team and the other interchange. Blair I would shove into the front row and make him work- probably as interchange. But what hten? How are we placed to bring on some new talent for the backrow for impact and presence? (God, I miss Ellis).

As to the backs I'd put Meaney into fullback until Tedesco is fully game fit replacing Moltzen. Utai out as he just cant do the defensive job against big leaping wingers coming at him contesting the ball. Both Lawrence adn Ayshford should be advised they have a few games to turn it around or they're on thin ice.

On the positive side I'm happy with the front row and the halves. Miller is still awork in progress but deserves more game time before judgement passed on him. If he fails to measure up bring Moltzen to halfback. For whatever reason that worked more than it failed with Moltzen at #7. Never, ever put Benji back to #7 again. We have tried that before anbd it was not a success- yes some good games but more bad than good and he doesnt like it there so why persist?

As a general comment we are suffering badly from a incoherent positional squad roster with too many under performers and/or players past their prime. Yikes, Potter has a job in front of him turing this mess around.

But still, go Wests Tigers.

What's the go with Lote? He should come in for Utai when he's available. It looks like Utai's lack of height may again be exposed this year.

Moltzen is not a fullback, period, get Tedesco in ASAP.

Koriobete has some strike to him, but he has 2 left feet for hands. Needs to get that sorted and he will be a weapon.

Ayshford and Lawrence both seem to have regressed in the past year or so, Ayshford could do with another stint in reggies if we can sort out a decent replacement.

Miller, sure it wasn't a good game, but what can a halfback do when the other team has almost 70% possession and are making 70m a set? Too early to bail on him.

Braith had a poor one, might need to warm the pine next week.

Bell, was so solid last year yet a bonehead play gave them the try that obliterated any chance we had of winning in the first half.

Team for next week

1. Tedesco
2. Reddy/Lote
3. Ayshford/Reddy (if Lote is back, Reddy plays, if not Ayshford plays)
4. Lawrence
5. Koriobete
6. Marshall
7. Miller
8. Woods
9. Farah
10. Galloway
11. Fulton
12. Pettybourne
13. Blair

14. Anasta
15. Buchannon
16. Thompson
17. BMM

Under size, under strength. You blokes are going to get bullied by every club in the comp. If it wasnt for farah that could of been 70.

Backrow = too small
centres = too small
wingers = too small
fullback = too slow

Newcastle have improved leaps and bounds that is for sure, but id expect every other side in the comp to offer that sort of power and speed this season. Your former coach has really left a mess.

Some good, Buchannan despite being out of his depth and debuting against blokes like Jeremy Smith and co, I thought he was excellent. Woods will come good. Farah and Benji. Get a fullback and some size in the backs and backrow and you blokes will be right back in it.

we are about to sack our no7 after one game, thats a real smart move. We had precious little ball to mount any attack and were out of petrol after 30 minutes. Dumb ball control, that was bought on by having to do a mountain of defense. The bottom line we do not have the right cattle in our club that can play the power game

That wasn't Jacob Millers debut! He is not up to NRL standard, looks very pedestrian, we need someone who poses some threat to the oppositions defence, we had it with Lui but for his off field indiscretions, benji is an easy target without a foil !

In Millers defence though, the pack got bashed hard to show your wears under those conditions.

Our forwards failed to make the ad line on too many occasions gifting field position to the knights. They need to be two or three meters further back when starting a run, they seemed to be taking the ball flat footed not building momentum. No fluency around the ruck because they were beaten on the ground in every contest.

Dump Moltzen & Utai. Tedesco & Nofoaluma to replace them.

Drop Reddy off the bench. Need 4 forwards on the bench.

I think the ruck is going to be sped up considerably this year which will work in our favour, but it will take a few weeks.

Defensive structure is abysmal. Ball control was pathetic. Goal line defence was shit.

Ayshford had a better game than Lawrence. That stupid contracted defence was done to sure up our lightweight pack in defence, but it left Ayshford & Lawrence outnumbered all night. Our defence didn't slide, which is what a contracted defensive line has to do.

Its hard to be critical of halves when they saw f**k all ball, let alone quality ball.

Marshall at 7??? You truly are a clueless gimp

Of course.

Despite the fact that he runs in there all the time and when he does he looks good. They showed some plays prior to the game yesterday and Marshall was doing just that.

To add to that Miller is looking so good at 7 isn't he. The kid has superstar written all over him.

Logic - you should try it. Maybe then you wouldn't be such an ugly fat stupid loser. Then again genetics are a bitch - you can't do much about it can you.

Thats not really as a good a retort as you think it is.

Buchanan is good, but his amount of good doesn't cover for Moltzen's amount of bad.

I dont understand what we are doing with Anasta. I know he was the Sheenius' purchase & Potter inherited him (& the rest of the team) but whats the point of using him like we did last night. I thought he might go ok for us if he took some of the kicking duties & 5th play options away from Benji & Robbie, he certainly isn't suited to be a hitup taking backrower.

I'll give Potter a few weeks to work out what changes need to be made, what players should be stamped never to play 1st's again. We cant expect him to make massive changes after 1 game. But jeezus last night was bad. It was like last season just continued on, no off season just this was our 27th game for the season.

Moltzen is terrible. Just terrible.
Has no attack other than running off Benji s inside hip. So 2011.
His defence is worse, where is he? Always arriving when the ball is being put down and sliding in with feet.

This jerk isn't a fullback. f**k him off.

Lawrence looked like a 5 year old kid out there last night.

Ball watching and running in circles.

It was embarrassing for someone regulary touted as a NSW centre.

Thought Blair actually played well last night for a change. His defence around the ruck was effective and scored a nice try

Benji is the problem. He is a head case.
Hard to be on the same page with someone so erratic and kicking on the 3rd, bombs that go backwards and grubbers that miss the mark.
