Looking at the Newcastle game again - Shite, my confidence for any success this season is shattered. It was a 1 out of 10 performance.
I'd almost contemplate starting with a big pack and put backrowers on the bench when the ruck speeds up later in the game.
8 - Woods
9 - Farah
10 - Galloway
11 - Murdoch Masila
12 - Buchanan
13 - Blair
14 - Fulton
15 - Anasta
16 - Pettybourne
17 - Thompson
After 20 mins, rest BMM and Buchanan and bring them back for 10-15 mins of the second half in place of Woods and Galloway
replace them with Anasta and Fulton in the first half, and during the second half rotate the forwards with Pettybourne and Thompson, who could play close to 30 mins in the back end of the game and ensure that none of our pack are dead on their feet like last night either.
It could help us cover the start of games where we get smashed and help sure up our defensive structure. Once the game starts speeding up after 20 mins or so, bring on the quicker back rowers to run at tiring big boys on the opposition.
Just an idea.

Use Ayshford and Lawrence as cover defenders.I can see some merit in this idea. On some levels it makes total sense. My only concern would be the lateral movement up the middle with Keith, BMM, Blair, Buchanan. Someone like Isaac Luke could run riot. Maybe we need to start employing strategies like this when it suits the opposition we're playing.
Anasta showing his concern today, saying "We only lost the first game"
I wish it was only a loss and not the utter annihilation that it was.
Sure it was only the first game, but the amount of serious issues it showed up says to me that it should be dismissed so casually.
Agree with thatThe halves problem is massive for us. We need someone with a bit of flair on the opposite side to Benji. Millers dilemma is a result of the fact that nrl don't have a proper reserve grade comp in my opinion. He was pretty good in the 20's but has been thrown in the deep end, a proper stepping stone with intensity and speed in between 20's and top grade. The system of feeder clubs etc is just a rabble it's not the way to develop great players
