TLDR man. Your opinions are pointless now as the NRL will never have a team based in Perth ever again unless we get Greenflog back.Never's a long time.
It will because it is the best way to grow the sport beyond its current population confines. I think if Beattie had stayed chair it would have been a two team expansion with Brisbane2 and Perth eventually. He commisioned an expansion review with a clear goal of measuring viabiltiy and best options. Vlandys had already made his mind up before the report was finished/
V'landys is very myopic about the sport and typical of a lot of RL fans TBH. His answer is suburban grounds (limiting) and another Brisbane club (which I agree with), that is too narrow a place for where the game needs to be into the longer term future, it needs to be a national sport played in front of large crowds with large public interest. For the game to expand we need leadership, strong financial foundations for code and clubs, vision, courage and faith in the business. One day we will have a commission and a game that is ready to grow.
I always find it funny when people whinge whine whinge about my opinions, then call me a whinging pom lol
May I suggest if your not interested in hearing peoples opinions on expansion you dont bother coming into an expansion thread with WA in the title!!
Peter Beatoff offered nothing at all, he offered nothing when he was the Qld premier ffsNever's a long time.

Give up you whinging pommie git.
Peter Beattie is an insincere idiot who screws over every business he touches. He was a dud Premier, made a fool of himself at the Commonwealth Games and did more of the same when he was part of rhe ARLC.Peter Beatoff offered nothing at all, he offered nothing when he was the Qld premier ffs
Beattie couldn't even get the players names right and forgot what Cronulla were called. He came in saying the game needed to expand and told Greenberg to get off his arse and conduct a proper expansion strategy review. Sad thats its been a waste of money and "I know best" Vlandys had already made his mind up before the review was completed.
Maybe Perth should join the Super League. The 8,000 they average will look good compared to the London Broncos.
Average for all games played at Perth Oval since 2005 is 13,923. That would place Perth 11th based on last year's attendances.perth RL crowd avg is around 15.5k. Putting it around 6th in the nrl avg attendance table over the last ten years lol I wish we had joined when they were looking at it 6 years ago, at least we’d be able to watch Prof RL and SL is a far more ambitious organisation than nrl.
Bit if of a bust up? Get the dog! You're probably in the wrong place if you dont want to read about expansion discussions and opinions. Never? lol. We had some decent leadership once before who could see the need to cut the dead wood out of Sydney and make it a national game. That time will come again, tick tock.

The Origin game? That's NOT NRL.well if we are only looking at last year avg for RL, Perth was actually 59,721. Which puts us number 1!
our avg crowd for nrl games in Perth over last decade is 15,265.
Beattie couldn't even get the players names right and forgot what Cronulla were called.
Peter Beattie and John Grant can help with that.Sometimes lately ,I wish I forgot what Cronulla were called.

?
He is right you know it’s not the NRL...just showing you the stupidity of cherry picking stats to make an argument.

A Perth team could end up being very successful. I hope it is a success. I am just pointing out that these things can go either way. Look at the Titans to see my point.you dont say, it was for effect lol
the actual avg attendance for all NRL games held in Perth in the last decade sits at
15 games for an avg 15,561
12 games HBF Park
2 games Optus stadium
1 game Subiaco oval
Highest Attendance
2015 HBF Park 20,727
Lowest Attendance
2017 HBF Park 6,258
5 games have attracted 19k or more
We also sold out a test match at HBF Park (21.5k capacity) and Origin at Optus (60k capacity), got 24k to Nines comp and 15k to RLWC game.
Fans are there, just need a club which requires an NRL with some vision and ability.

Unless they pump money into it like they did the Melbourne Storm..A Perth team could end up being very successful. I hope it is a success. I am just pointing out that these things can go either way. Look at the Titans to see my point.
Crowds at Perth Oval have been alright most of the time with a few really good numbers, but there have also been some poor turnouts. I have focussed on the poor turnouts to highlight that a Perth team could end up like the Titans, or any of the other teams you whine about.
Whatever benefits come from adding a Perth team will be very small, at least over the next 20 years. They also carry a lot of risk. That cannot be denied. After everything the NRL has been through bailing out struggling clubs over the last decade and knowing the cost of expansion into Melbourne, I believe the leaders have grave concerns about venturing into Perth any time soon.
AwFuL didn't set up Gold Coast and GWS until their heartlands were sorted and they had piles of cash to waste on their project. The NRL still has Brisbane and regional NSW under serviced and they don't have the money to fund expansion into unchartered territory now that Foxtel is broke..
