I've been a fanboy of Ken - but must say he and Fus are starting to bug me. Now we have a more powerful forward back, at least one of wingers needs to be a speed merchant. Wonder if Reece Walsh comes early here whether he could fight for a wing spot this season...

To add to this.
Suddenly we have forwards to cart the ball up and two big wingers who nobody passes or bombs to.

i said it last year and i will say it again. Maumalo has to go the same route as Tony Iro and Tony Williams if he is going to progress in the NRL. We need speed on at least one of the wings. At least Fusitua can catch a high ball with reliability. Maumalo has been found wanting multiple times in this department though has admittedly improved from his early days. Last weeks game was a classic example of the blunders he can conjure up though.
We dont need him anymore to give the forwards a rest. You dont even NEED a big winger to provide metres out of the backfield. Someone nippy and elusive is just as effective. Look at Corey Thompson as an example in todays game. Sam Perrett was great at getting easy metres and how big was he?

Re Ken & Fus - I'd argue that we didn't actually miss them last year when they went home. I thought Pompey was starting to develop nicely & G.Jennings did a good job too.

They were also highlighted due to our lack of go-forward in the pack. I'd still keep Fus, but his attitude towards defense sometimes has me pulling my hair out. With his build & ability, he really should have gone on to be spoken about like Inglis was, and Latrell is. He has all the attributes.

add P Herbert to the list of wingers that did well after the other 2 went home. I remember a spectacular full length catch for a try in the pouring rain. I cant remember if it was Kodi or CHT who kicked the ball. They shouldnt have let Herbert go. He added good depth.

I'm prepared to give them a bit more time considering all the footy and training with the team that they missed last year.

But the tether is getting shorter for sure.

Interesting the week we sign Reece Walsh, Perham is now named at centre in QCup after playing fullback last week

Someone mentioned when Walsh was signed there would be competition for the fullback position nek year, I don’t think there’s any competition and it will 100% be Walshes

Honestly I enjoyed so much watching us with wingers who were actually wingers.

And Jennings isn't even considered a good winger, but it was so refreshing to have him there, doing things wingers are meant to do.

I can't think of a slower group of backs in the comp than ours. Speed kills. Speed can make something out of nothing. We don't have it. We really don't have it anywhere.

Talk in the Broncos forum is that they’ve requested Hayze Perham for a swap and then they’ll release Walsh.

What does everyone think?

Sounds too good to be true IMO

Wouldn't love to lose Hayze, but it's fair

Perhaps they'd settle for Curran?

As much as i want Walsh in the system early, Perham is one of the last players id give up. So much untapped potential waiting to be unlocked with him

If RTS wasn't RTS, you'd send him. He's on his way to the Blues anyway. We're only compensating the Broncos for the year.

Adam Reynolds manager saying it’s increasingly unlikely he will be at the Rabbitohs next year.

No doubt he would get picked up with a host of other clubs, but I’m wondering if we offered him a 3 year contract if that could sway him.

He has literally everything in his game that we need.

I just read that Brooks is on 900k a season, with Ash Taylor’s previous contract and Ben Hunt on huge money, it wouldn’t be the worst money spent on a half...

Reynolds is imo exactly what we need... quality half, best kicking game around, leader, and great behind a strong pack

What would Reynolds be on? 800k a season?

Reynolds could move up to QLD and take Broncos or Titans money

Yeah, and if talk of Bennet going back to Broncos is true, then he’d almost certainly take Reynolds with him.

But, if we offered a 3 year contract, we could nab him as I don’t think many would be willing to give him a high paying 3 year contract.

That’s our only chance IMO, however if we got him I believe we would be in the hunt for a premiership for the nek 2 years

now that 2nd Brisbane team is looking likely people might be sticking to short term contracts so they can be showered with money in 2023.
