From the top 8 at the moment, the Roosters have beaten:
Round 3: Storm
Round 5: Panthers
Round 14: Panthers

They have also beaten the bulk of the teams that could force the Panthers and Titans out of the top 8. Although with only 3 of their wins against current top 8 teams, it is pretty average.

Storm was 12th and in poor form in round 3

penrith was 13th
penrith was 10th

I repeat roosters have not beaten a team while that team was in the top 8 when the roosters played them. The roosters lost to newcastle when newcastle was in the top 8, and the roosters beat newcastle when newcastle was about 10th

Again no sides in the top 8

sat
9th-Canberra vs 7th GC
another one that could go either way ,Canberra have been on fire as of late esp at home will be hard to beat ,gc form has been up and down ,both have had wins over the roosters in the last few weeks

Didn't the raiders put 60 on the Tits last year? Also Mat Rogers isn't a certainty to play. Seeing how the Raiders have been the past two weeks this could be a comfortable win for them.

The Raiders should still beat the Titans this weekend without Carney but if he isn't cleared the remaining rounds just got alot tougher for them.

This week is a good test as to whether the Broncos are going to stand up at all. If they can pound the Sharks then they'll probably gain some good momentum heading into the last few weeks.

On that note the Sharks have a pretty tough run home and I think they'll drop out of the top four.

Well the fight for the top 8 just heated up even more with Carney being stood down for an indefinite period. Making their chances much harder all of a sudden.

Gaba we beat the 'Dogs when they were 3rd what have you got to say about that?
Too early in the season to count?

I love the irony in you saying we have an easy schedule.

Wouldn't be ruling Pritchard out just yet. He copped his shoulder injury last week, and it was expected to be a season ending injury. But it wasn't as bad as first thought, and it's just a matter of pain management.

We're hoping he didn't doing anymore damage to it. If he's out, it will be a massive blow though. He was easily our best player against the Titans, and if he wasn't on the field we would have lost.

The injury to pritchard's shoulder over the weekend was on the opposite side to the one they were talking about ending his season.

Ok , you have beaten one side in the was in the 8 when they were in the 8 even though they were there for one week, i will give you that one

The roosters have had an easy draw bulldogs twice, eels twice, knights twice, panthers twice, warriors, souths, injury depleted goldcoast.tigers , lost to knights and goldcoast, beaten eels once while roosters were depleted, shows how bad the eels are going

this is before this weekend games , manly once , storm once dragons once , beaten melbourne . lost to understrength dragons and beaten by manly while the roosters were depleted

So you cant argue roosters are where they are due to the easiest draw

I think with or without Todd Carney the raiders will still make it
we need 4 of our last 7, 4 of which are at home and 2 of our away games against souths and the cowboys, its a pretty cruisey run home for us.
It all hinges on how Marc Herbert can step up to FG and if he cant how long, if it all till we see TC back

If Carney isn't charged, I would imagine in two or three weeks if Herbert has a shocker in those games.

If he isnt charged the the investigation cant prove the urination was intentional, id say he'll be back in FG by 2 weeks regardless of how Herby goes

I have never once said we don't have an easy draw, just said it is ironic that you would say this when the Dragons have played Storm, Titans, Broncos with depleted teams.

However we do play the Storm twice, Manly twice, Knights twice on the road basically and your lot twice, so it isn't easy the whole season. The first time we played the Bulldogs they were about even favourites with us, yet we smashed them, second time we were missing 7 players yet still won. Souths were favourites to beat us in round 1 because of their good team on paper and good signs in the pre season, yet we still won comfortably. The Warriors were yet to lose at home when we played them in Auckland so that was by no means an easy task plus we were missing 3 starters and Origin players backing up.

When you say 'understrength dragons' how bad was it? I remember Cooper was out, who else was? If it was just him then we can make the point that Minichiello was out also.

You can only beat who you are playing, so unless you are trying to sugest the NRL gave us an easy schedule deliberately?

the top 5 are set in stone. the positions amongst themselves may change but that will be our top 5.

the next 3 spots are open between dragons, titans, panthers, tigers, raiders and warriors.

i think the raiders, dragons and panthers will probably get in.

dont know about the tigers, im still leaning towards us not making it.

My top 8

1. Sea Eagles
2. Storm
3. Sharks
4. Broncos
5. Roosters
6. Dragons
7. Titans
8. Tigers

Smokey-Warriors.

IMO Penrith just don't have the consistency to hold on to 8th, Canberra will drop a crucial game without Carney, the Warriors are still an unknown quantity (making them a dangerous dark horse) and nobody else is playing well enough to finish in the 8.
