The Mitchell Pearce thread has been removed temporarily and will be soon reinstated.

Please do not start another thread or it will be removed.

Thank you for your co-operation.

Twizzle has obviously lied.

He must be waiting for the story to blow over.

Someone probably emailed LU mods threatening defamation was occurring in that thread.

On the Voldemort thread, I posed you another question but I never got a chance to see if you responded.
Might have to send you a PM.

Surprised you are the only person to date who has mentioned him. Without Dally, there would probably be no rugby league in Australia.

None of us got to see him play of course, but from what I have read he was a big star in Union at the time and it was a massive coup for League to sign him. He then went on to be a superstar in his new sport.
He definitely should be in the equation, even though he played so long ago.

Just saw footage of SBW's amazeballs offload to win a rugby sevens match

So that got me thinking about the best cross code superstars our game has seen.

Of course, Sonny Bill Williams has to be mentioned. Represented his country in rugby league, rugby union and rugby sevens. Two time NRL premiership winner, two time Rugby World Cup winner, Super Rugby Winner, Ranfurly Shield Winner.....and a couple of boxing titles too.

Former Rooster Michael Cleary is another who could claim to be the best cross coder. Played for Aussie in both rugby and rugby league, and he medalled in 100 yards running at a Commonwealth Games.

Brad Thorn is a legend too, more for his longevity but also for being so brilliant at rugby and rugby league. Similar goes for Jason Robinson too, and for Izzy Folau who has the added bonus of playing AFL as well

Benji had a medicore union stint so somebody will suggest him as a joke. Craig Gower played a bit of union too so he may get a mention as a joke.

So who is the best cross code player?

If you think Craig Gower's period as a rugby union player in France, and as a rugby union captain of Italy, and as a rugby league player as captain of Penrith's premiership winning team, and as an Australian half back or hooker, and later as captain of London Broncos, amounts to a joke, then you are not fit to judge. Craig Gower is one of the top 10 cross coders of all time

Number One in terms of code difference and difficulty is Jarryd Hayne.
Number One in terms of success and reputation in more than one code is Sonny Bill Williams.

If he ever gets near Colin Scotts' career in American Football, maybe.

Scotts did not represent at the senior level, but he was a schoolboy sensation in rugby union.

Hayne's nrl career > Scotts nfl career
Hayne's nfl career > Scotts rugby career

Please mount the argument for SBW>Thorn...I'm fairly certain there isn't one.

Then add that SBW fought a bunch of bums in the boxing ring then refused to defend his belt, only to lose it as a result. And was beaten to a pulp by Botha before his camp called the fight off early. Then I'd be prepared to grant anyone else leeway with the shithouse Sevens form he showed on the weekend, but I'm not with him seeing he got to waltz straight into the national side without playing the nationals, or any game in his life as far as I'm aware.

John Brass must be a contender. After Gaz he was the best midfielder I have seen. Devastating tackler, great acceleration, good top end speed, kicked goals and captained the Roos on one occasion. Too long ago to win but a sign of his ability was he was on a then record salary at the Roosters when he came to league. His subsequent test career legitimised the fee.

He and Phil Smith were a wonderful schoolboy centre combination for Sydney Boys High School, took them to a pretty rare GPS premiership.

A couple of other pretty handy cross-code backs from those days were Stephen Knight and George Reubner.

Also Jimmy Lisle, who was a bit earlier.

Jeff Wilson is a great one, simply because the two codes have no common skills and he was pursued heavily by both. He had serious potential for a very long career with the black caps.

Reminds me that Berrick Barnes was chased by both the NRL, ARU and CA out of high-school. He was apparently the most highly-rated young keeper-batsman in the country.
