The Bulldogs recruitment and retention team. At least they know how to sign good players.

Maybe because our back office looks like a basket case and the Dogs a well run operation has something to do with it ? They are a club going places and we are a rudderless mess.

they certainly have some nice looking signings on paper, although 2 issues come to mind.

Firstly, they pride themselves on a "bred not bought" philosophy. Or at least they were throwing that one at rival teams a few years ago. Well, last time I looked, they had nothing to do with the development of Hodkinson, Keating, Pritchard, Tolman or Tandy, all of whom will be key players for them next season.

Secondly, bringing in a raft of new players from one season to the next usually doesn't lead to instant success. We know this ourselves from experiences at Parra doing the same thing over the past decade or 2. It should take a fair bit of time for the side to gel, especially with 2 completely new halves.

I just like to know how come in all of the Parramatta world out there we can't find just one, just one Nick Politis type of business man to join our board. Instead we keep getting middle of the road business types(real estate developers) at best, popping up all the time.

Isn't there any big end of town fans out there at all, who have enough passion for our club to get involved?

Just remember, if you have a desent amount of third party sponsors available to you, you can basically sign almost anyone you want to. Comes down to how good your management is and or the location of your club really.

The Bulldogs pack has gone backwards, Tandy + Tolman still dont = Hannant. KK and Hodkinsin will look like Kimmorley and Barba playing behind them if they dont aim up.
I cant believe the hardon so many people have for the way this club is going.

I think they've spent a LOT of money on 2 guys who are questionable as halves at NRL level.

Hodko they've spent 260-270k per year on over 3 years. I just wonder if he's that sort of player? He had a couple of good weeks with Manly at the start of the year but is he ever going to be a big star?

Maybe I just don't like him because he is the spitting image of Finch

I agree with your assessment of their frontrow, but all their other recruits have been really good.

But in their defense, what better frontrow options have come onto the market thus far. I can't seem to remember any.

How much you reckon they wouldve bought Halatau for?

Was an outstanding player for the Kiwis and has now lost all form.

And OMC I agree with you on Hodkinson, I dont think he's reached his potential yet and theyve thrown him sh*tt loads of money to be their number 1 playmaker.

i wouldnt adopt any system the bulldogs implement for anything , its a club built upon sin

they are knee jerk buyers of the highest order , always have to recruit every year

Can't think of one player who they have signed that we needed to be honest, signing players is not just about numbers and headlines. Let's wait and see, I haven't been bothered with any signings so far, although Inglis would have been handy

I agree with Delboy and would strongly argue that we need only one key signing - an experienced halfback, or at least one that will not take much time to start guiding a side around the park.

I reckon we have all of our player losses covered and really just need the remaining bunch to be guided around the park by someone with confidence and ideally experience.

Mateo will be ably replaced by Horo, the return of Shackleton and Timmy Mannah's rise will easily cover Cayless. Jono Wright looks like he might be ready to step up to a regular starting berth in the backline and would be much more reliable than Inu.

despite playing terribly theres a few u20's names that have been thrown round latley

i know O'Hanlon is one and has massive wraps .... who else is there? Be like going back to the late 90's early 00's when most of our signings were in the older bracket and we had a sh*tload of young blood coming through

Pritchard is a selfish nuffie who produces a handful of blockbusting games a year. Adamson gave him a good roasting in today's paper...

BIG Frank Pritchard yesterday signed a rich three-year deal with the Bulldogs - but now stands accused of putting the skids under the Panthers' finals campaign.
Former Penrith and Australian Super League forward Matt Adamson called on coach Matt Elliott to sack Pritchard immediately, describing the timing of the announcement as "selfish and disgraceful".

Kiwi international Pritchard, 26, revealed he had signed a $1.2 million deal with Canterbury, but he will leave Penrith with Adamson's words ringing in his ears. "I'd let him go now - Frank Pritchard is a selfish individual. It's a disgrace what he has done, announcing this two weeks before the finals," Adamson said.

Penrith legend Greg Alexander added: "The timing could have been better. I know the team is very disappointed. Not many forwards can do what Frank does. He is dynamic and it is a blow for Penrith."
Adamson, who played 157 first-grade games for Penrith over nine seasons, was scathing.

"Frank is only worried about Frank. He is purely in the game for himself. If I was the coach, I wouldn't have him in my club. He is not the player I would want to be taking the field alongside," he said.

"You don't win a comp with individuals - you win a comp with a team. Frank is a great player but he has been overpaid for the last three to four years and hasn't delivered.

"Frank should have been let go years ago. I'd drop him right now. Frank has let down his captain: he has turned his back on Petero Civoniceva.

"One hundred per cent this could affect Penrith's finals chances."

Pritchard last night refuted suggestions his late-season signing would derail the Panthers' finals run.

"The club has been very supportive. While I am very sad I am also very happy. Hopefully this group can now go on and win a grand final," he said.

Another former Panther, centre Ryan Girdler, came to Pritchard's support, claiming he did not believe Pritchard's decision would haunt the Panthers this September.

"They are big enough to get on with the job. They have some real leaders in Petero, Luke Lewis and Trent Waterhouse," Girdler said.

"I don't think it will have a bearing on their run into the finals. They are all professionals and will get on with it. You don't get too many opportunities to play in the finals. I think the last time for Penrith was 2004. It won't affect them."

Panthers CEO Mick Leary said of losing Pritchard: "We're disappointed. We made a substantial offer to Frank but he has decided to go."

Asked if Pritchard's decision could destabilise Penrith's finals charge, Leary said: "No mate. As a group, they are very focused. Now is the time for Frank to rise to the occasion and repay the club what they have done for him over the years."
