So we go from one sacked coach to another sacked coach? WHY lol

I don't want Henry anywhere near the joint.

Keep Mary on then.

Been pointing that out for some time and posted his coaching record which is at 47% and he's been sacked by 2 clubs. The year he got coach of the year the Cowboys only had 14 wins off the back of 5 the previous year. While things change it's a big gamble

The short term "wait and see" approach that served us so well with Steve Price.

We did that with Price when we were losing game after game. Aside of the 1st week when Mary didnt have much time for the game against Souths we are doing well. In the last 4 games we are only behind Manly and 'IF' we beat the Cowboys and pick up the bye we may actually be the the best performing team over that 6 week period as Manly lost tonight though their differential is much better than ours however the onus is on them to win while we have a bye.

Time will tell but I'd rather Mcgregor than someone who's recently failed at a previous club.

@Big421 @jono68x Tim Sheens hasn't been spoken too by the Dragons. I'm hearing It's out of Wayne Bennett & Paul Mcgregor. Henry a low chance

I may well get on the cans right now after reading this !

No Sheens is great news...he's not a good fit for our club.

For there was much rejoicing throughout the land... :D

Doust: SWEEPING DECLARATION - our next coach will be either a proven premiership-winning champion with the irrefutable ability to work to the strengths of the team and get the best out of each player...OR - now get this - a rookie with 5 games under his belt and zero games as assistant to a decent coach and contributed to'drahons footy'...we cant lose, right?!

Board: PETE, ARE YOU CRAZY? We did that last year and look where we ended up!

Doust: But guys, the players said they really like him! I read it in the Mercury. Plus he's from Illawarra!

Board: WELL WHY DIDN'T YOU SAY SO! We dont need anyone else!

God this club shits me sometimes.

You are 100% right Benny
Yes Mcgregors doing a good job at the moment but it is only the honeymoon period.
Is he the right man for the long term? IMO No.
We need an experienced coach to move forward.

It appears Plan B is now MacGregor which will result in the Dragons wasting another 2-3 years.

Does anyone remember how Fittler went at the Roosters when he took over as first grade coach? He took them to the semis in 2008 (honeymoon) and then got the sack the following year when they finished last in 2009.

We do NOT NEED another rookie coach who has only coached a few games of first grade.
