I'd be fine with soccer style riots at the NRL for the main reasons that certain journo's would keel over & die from self righteous merkin-ness.

The warriors crowd was pretty good the other night. NRL should get a magic round to Auckland asap while the ironing is hot.

Can't think why so many people in Sydney have been watching the Matildas when they could have been enjoying the company of angry miserable blokes at NRL games.

On the radio you can hear some bloke in the Manly crowd always try to get them going. He sounds like a right lunatic and a great bloke to be at the footy with

Yeah . . I've noticed him over the years. A hoarse voice. Must be a season ticket holder, near wherever the Fox mic's are. He always starts the Manly chant. Probably a nice bloke, but he goes for Manly.

My other theory is that the laid back nature of australian culture means that game results just dont mean that much. In UK winning or losing matters, it makes or breaks a persons week for some fans. Might be sad but that's how it is, especially in some of these grim RL towns and cities.
That leads to a lot more passion and buy in from fans. That leads to fans wanting to lift their team to win by getting behind them. Hence the cacophony of noise they make.

TBh walking out of nrl games most fans look like they really dont care what the result was. Probably as life is so bloody good here lol
