So WA Reds won't have to prove anything for their own support?
i.e. the Reds average crowds fell 5000 after the first year. In saying that, it should be much different this time round.

1. Done
2. Bid have all the media and market research + reports. Corporate support could top most existing NRL clubs.
3. we will see. But using exisiting examples for QCup. CQ are aiming for 3000 for the TV game - 4 or 5 times what SE QLD clubs get. It's semi pro so hard to compare to potential in the NRL. We're an RL heartlands and the 40,000+ "bid members" wanting a team within a dense population base says it all.

Why so little mention? Because its not gonna happen.

Perth and a second Brisbane team, based around Ipswich/Logan that pulls Toowoomba in as well - South and West but call them the Ipswich Logan Jetts.

They need Perth to say they are really "National" and to get the TV ratings by locking that market up and Ipswich/Logan is the only place with the population to pull it off, to tap into the fringe Brisbane-ites West and South that are over the Bronco's and not on the GC, that have a RL population and which is sufficiently and tribally independent from Brisbane to make a team work.

When you put aside all the local parochialism, it's the only thing that makes sense.

and will be the decision the ARLC makes IF they decide to expand imo. It's not saying that CQ or CC bid a bad bid or is lacking in some ways but it is a harsh reality that the ARLC will focus on maximising revenue into the game, it is the only way the other 16 clubs will agree to it. Metro ratings continue to be the focus and despite CQ's claims more people in Brisbane watch a game involving a Brisbane team than another Q'land team.

IF you love Central Queensland football, this Sunday is the day to show it.
In a first for the Rockhampton region, this weekend's clash between the CQ Capras and Norths Devils will be televised across the state.
Channel Nine cameras will be recording the historic Intrust Super Cup fixture to be held at Browne Park.
Capras chief executive officer Brenton Williamson said it was the perfect opportunity for the region to show just how much they support local football.
"It's great to see so many people returning to Browne Park this season," he said.
"Browne Park's crowd is becoming vocal and supportive once again.
"This has a very big impact on the players - it's something they cherish."
Mr Williamson said it also made it hard for any visiting team and encouraged Rockhampton to continue that support his weekend.
But the excitement of a live game isn't the only reason to come down and cheer on CQ's boys.
Mr Williamson said there would be face-painting, mechanical bull rides, a live DJ and much more on offer.
"We're putting a strong emphasis on it being a family fun day," he said.
"Even if you aren't a footy supporter it's still a fun day out."
Mr Williamson said their target for the day was 5000 people.

GAME DAY
Sunday's match between Capras and Norths kicks off at 2.10pm
Tickets on sale now at the Rockhampton Leagues Club costing $10 for adults, $5 for a student or $25 for a family of four

THERE will be old, new and something blue and maroon at Browne Park this Sunday.
From former players like Nev Callaghan to current Capras centre Mitch Zornig, all footy lovers in Rockhampton are getting pumped up for this weekend's televised Intrust Super Cup game.
The CQ Capras will take on the Norths Devils in a match that will be broadcast across the state.
Nev, who starred for the team in the 1950s, never imagined a CQ team would one day be playing in front of WIN TV cameras.
"The game has changed a lot - it's a different style now," he said.
"Browne Park is still one of the best grounds in Queensland and it's great we get to share that with the whole state. I hope the Capras win on a high and I just hope Rocky gets behind it."
Capras chief executive officer Brenton Williamson urged people to buy tickets early to avoid waiting in line on Sunday.
He said they were expecting around 3000 people to attend.
"It's going to be perfect weather to get out and support the boys," he said.

MORE than 70,000 viewers are expected to tune in to Sunday's televised Intrust Cup rugby league game between the CQ Capras and Norths Devils.
Rockhampton will take centre stage for the clash, with Capras' club officials hoping for a bumper crowd at Browne Park.
Capricorn Enterprise has been announced as the major sponsor for the game, which will be broadcast around the state on WIN, Channel 9 and Imparja.
Andrew Voss will call the game.
Capricorn Enterprise chief executive Mary Carroll said the region was right behind the Capras and the CQ NRL Bid.
"Sport is a major part of our lifestyle here in Central Queensland and to have the chance to show off our state representative team alongside our bid for a national team to the whole of Queensland is an opportunity we as a region can't miss out on," Ms Carroll said.
She said the CQ Capras had shown this year they were more than able to compete against the city boys. The last televised game in Rockhampton was back in 2008 for the Rugby League World Cup.
Capricorn Enterprise wants a big crowd. "We're hoping to see 3000 people at Browne Park on Sunday," Ms Carroll said.
"If you love your league, if you love your Capras and if you want to see an NRL team here, this is your chance to show the state we mean business."

The NRL STADIUM confirmed

June 19th, 2012
Great News Central Queensland! The Stadium that is vitally important to the CQ NRL Bid’s success in acquiring a NRL license has been confirmed by the State Government. Last week, the CQ NRL Bid Chairman, Geoff Murphy and I, met with the State Government Minister for Sport, Steve Dickson, in his office at Parliament House in Brisbane, and with his Director General Mr Rhys Turner. Minister Dickson delivered this great news to us personally. “If the CQ NRL Bid acquires a NRL License, the Government will provide the compliant Stadium, and you can guarantee this to the NRL – it will happen – it is written in stone” Minister Dickson said last week.

CQ Italia: would a Central Queensland club be likely to keep the Capras nickname and their colours if they get into the NRL?

Not the name. It will be a brand representing all areas from Mackay to Burnett/Bundy. There is a few "tips" in the expansion forum somewhere though ;-)

Premier broadcasting tonight that the Qld state debt isn't 62 Billion as labor said but 100 billion ....this would hardly seem consistent with an alleged commitment to spend around 200 million to immediately start building a stadium .... But then again we are talking about politicians they are the people who could try to justify spending money to save money....I hope they build you guys one but it seems financially impossible for some years
