They're not. That was a marketing campaign from the 2002 season to try and capture nationwide support.

The team is the "Vodafone Warriors" or "The Warriors." They are not the Auckland Warriors or the New Zealand Warriors.

no the kiwis are, they are called the new zealand warriors for marketing reasons. its really the auckland warriors with a few others.
