This may well backfire. You take a kid away for two years during an early stage of his development as a regular NRL starter and it will have an affect. I am still a skeptic on him anyway and the hiatus will not help.
As a avid eagles fans, well parra get one up on us. Good on the kid super money, the one thing i have to say to parra fans with the we got one up one you is well no you did not, we got jamie lyon who has had a massive influence on 3 grand final appearances and 8 back to back finals campaigns then turned trex into a dud footballer who hindmarsh did not rate and Jamie Buhrer so no we still have the ledger.
Good luck with his old man on coaching staff that is all i can say, see ya later hopoate one thing don't come back when things turn to shit at parra like they always do.
While the kid is a super talent we still easily won games with out him when wolfman and robbo where on wings, our club will win more titles as long as dce, foran, lyon, watmough and stewart boys. Our wing will still be strong david williams back ben farrar back from france, oldfield and whare as back up.
Young lussick is a rep player of future so more grand finals for manly more false hopes for parra.

So that's Will, Jamil and John peeling oranges on a combined $800k. I think we can hose down the reports now from last night that we were just paying William $800k.
So this deal is 800k for all three hoppas?
I doubt we would sign William for 800k Nolan is a better recruiter than that. He did a great job for brissy for many years
Exciting times![]()
Hoppa senior isn't coming, just the younguns
Thought John was coming to for a coaching job
not according to the SMH who said Parra sources denied that
yeah according to disgruntled ex-clubs we have Sandow on $550,000 a year and Hoppa on $850,000 a year. Add Hayne at $500,000 a year and thats $1.9mil for 3 players.
Doubt that is correct, the club would know what they are doing. Just ask Ray Hadley.
Most of the news is covered by the some company that owns the Storm why would they dob them selves in? and then report all about it dragging them thru the dirt.yet nobody knew the Storm were cheating

Hoppa's $1.7m: Is he really worth more than Lockyer?
4 Oct 11 @ 09:00pm by Jon Geddes
SEA Eagles teenage winger sensation Will Hopoate is set to become the highest paid player in the NRL with a deal believed to be worth $1.7 million to join Parramatta when he returns to the game after his two years of missionary work.
Sources have told the Manly Daily that staggering figure is what Hopoate will earn after he agreed to a two-year deal from the cashed-up Eels.
“It is serious coin with a lot of third party included elements involved in that,” the insider revealed.
And Manly simply could not match that amount.
The figure would put Hopoate ahead of Cowboys star Johnathan Thurston who earns $750,000 a year and Broncos legend Darren Lockyer who reportedly had a total annual salary of $700,000.
Hopoate’s deal is also worth more than the $1.8 million three-year contract that Greg Inglis has with South Sydney.
Rabbbitohs halfback Chris Sandow recently with the Eels on a deal worth $2 million over four years.
The news that Hopoate won’t be going back to the Sea Eagles once he completes his commitments with the Mormon Church in 2014 puts a real dampener on the celebrations following Manly’s sensational grand final win over Parramatta. “We would have loved to have kept him and we are disappointed,” said Sea Eagles coach Des Hasler.
“Obviously it was always going to be a very difficult decision for Will to make.
“And I have no doubt the decision was based on what was best for Will and his immediate family on the back of what has been an outstanding year for Will with the State of Origin selection and winning a grand final,” Hasler said.
