justin poore in the limited time that he had, had the most impact in defence, he stings with every tackle.

just give the bloke a chance to get some games strung together

we are missing a chad robinson/ian hindmarsh/todd lowrie type of player though

ben smith can hit and is effective but his workrate is not even a quarter of those blokes

Nope, he was with us in 2010 too.

I think Poore still has a lot to offer, and I hope that he is given the chance to prove that over the course of the 2012 season.

He might well be our best front-rower when fit, but most coaches (ours included) don't want to pay $350k for a player who only plays 40-50 minutes a week.

So Poore's gone at the end of the year unless he wants to take a pay cut, and that would be very hard for him to do. Especially if there's another club out there willing to at least match it.

Casper, is Mason a goat rider?

Ask Poo Poo, he's an expert in "goat riding"

I agree.
Kearney's already played his hand in the salary sense per player - and with Poore, it'd be no different.

I guess only time will tell if Poore does in fact want to remain with the club long-term, should he take a pay-cut.
Then again, Kearney may decide that at the end of 2012, he may not want to retain Poore, so he'll be on the lookout for a new club.

Who knows?

Fui's the only aggressive/feared forward we've got.

The rest are a bunch of sheilas as far as fearsome goes.

Don't get me wrong. They are good players. But not feared.

Yes that's what I was saying mason would add aggression because it's something we lacked

I want some forwards who are going to throw some punches and knock a few merkins out. A few loose cannons with short fuses.
We've got the type that are going to help little old ladies cross the road.

When he signed with us he was a SOO player. Unless he can get up to that peak again I doubt any club would throw 350k at him, with the exception of a celler dweller or ESL club. I think the best props in the game would easily command 350k plus. It wouldn't surprise me if Mannah is on that kind of money.

Then we may end up with the wrong balance.

We might end up with blokes who walk the little old lady across the road then knock her out half way across.

Aggression my arse. Maybe 5 or 6 seasons ago. But now all he would add to our team is an extra penalty or two per game niggling the opposition while trying to prove how tough he is.

Not worth it IMO, he would only play for wenty.
We have
Fui
T. Mannah
Poore
Allgood
J. Mannah
Shackelton.
Those are our front rowers who would all play FG before mason.

Hindmarsh
Lasalo
Maitua
Horo
Shackelton
Obrien
Who would all play back row before mason. This time last year I would of jumped at the idea. But not now!

well that would depend on how well he plays, on his day mason is better than a lot of our forwards.
