Night 1 Result
One of the wines had that deadly look in its label. Eyeing off a white wine that looked like it was going to cause a problem, it approached. Both wines stared off. The red then challenged it to an airing off.
Into the stemmed glass they went, side by side, white against red. The Mornington Peninsula Pinot Gris was certain it would come out victorious. After all, it was a stellar little wine and keen show its pedigree.
But the cool climate, smooth as silk, spicy, black cherry, peppery red varietal had its measure. Such an excellent drop, such an easily drinkable wine, was clearly the superior vino.
The Pinot Gris was no match. It was turned to vinegar.
Bazzi is dead. He was Mornington Peninsula Pinot Gris, Aussie wine aligned.
Tasting Notes: Pinot Gris the way it should be grown: cool climate and maritime breeze come together to produce a wine as delicate as the mainland allows. All the crisp acidity and length of flavour that you can expect from one of the coldest places in Australia.
Power: You may switch two players power each night.
A crisp, dry white wine from Tumbarumba tracked the movements of the killer red, while another watched the events that were about to unfold against the Tawny Port.
The South East Australian Cabernet Merlot was possibly the worst of all varieties known to man. Being the crappy bulk wine that it was, it determined to blend with the Hanwood Tawny port in a bid to poison it.
Take that, it bubbled.
There was conflict here. For the Hanwood Port was unkillable for a time. But when it would be aired and available to die, the blending would take effect and the port would gradually oxidise. Until that time, it would remain corked and good to drink.

One of the old world wines was intent on causing distress and destruction. Famous for its fizz, it approached a powerful Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon with intent.
There was conflict here. A killer vs a killer.
But only one would emerge victorious. The Comte Blanc de Blanc popped its cork, aimed right at the Coonawarra Cabernet, smashing it into a juicy mixture of red wine and glass. It would age no more.

Tasting Notes: You have classic flavours of currant, plum, black cherry and spice. You can also be marked by herb, olive, mint, tobacco, cedar and anise, and ripe, jammy notes. In warmer areas, it can be supple and elegant; in cooler areas, it can be marked by pronounced vegetal, bell pepper, oregano and tar flavours (a late ripener, it can't always be relied on in cool areas, which is why Germany, for example, has never succumbed to the lure). It can also be very tannic if that is a feature of the desired style. The best Cabernets start out dark purple-ruby in colour, with firm acidity, a full body, great intensity, concentrated flavours and firm tannins.
Power: You are an even night killer.
As the final drops of Cabernet dried, another red wine was uncorked, decanted and prepared for battle. It would take the place of its fallen comrade as well as its power.

It is now day. With 17 alive, it is 9 to lynch. Lynch deadline is 7am tomorrow morning. If discussion is worthy, I will keep it going.
Remember, if you don't post before the lynch, you will not be able to use your power in the night!
