Had a bottle of BVE 2003 E&E Black Pepper Shiraz with some gorgeous steak on Sat evening. Sitting on the back deck under the Poincianna tree with a nice cool breeze just blowing while watching the sun go down.

Wow !!!!!

Was an absolute delight to drink, savoured every drop.

I will need a wheelchair / electronic scooter in Brisbane on the 23rd April, as the DWS Trade Show is on from 10:30am to 6:30pm, and they have an exceptional portfolio. And if anyone can get me from the Gold Coast to Brisbane before that, I'll try and swing them a start too ;-)

Torbreck Vintners "Natural Wine Project" Grenache. Basically a wine which they have done with virtually zero intervention and only natural products (doesn't specify if it's organic or not, so I guess not). Has the picked day (7th April 2010), bottled month (August 2010), and "best before" date (7th April 2012). Having tried it, I think it was a wine that needed to be drunk pretty close to that bottling date. Feeling a bit tired in the glass, but still a pleasant drink and I appreciate what they are trying to achieve.

I tried that about a year ago. I was disappointed tbh. It felt flat even then, kind of like an experiment that didn't quite work out

Sounded interesting, but just didn't seem to work for them. I have had excellent minimal interference wines before, Cork Cutters "Benign Neglect" Pinot Noir comes to mind as a fantastic wine in that style.

I polished off a Wolf Blass Cab Sav from 2010.................. not bad, lacks some real bite but I would drink it again no dramas.

Drank a bottle of 2009 scarpantoni Fiori that I got from Maclaren Vale last weekend.

Very sweet wine, which for me not being a big wine drinker, made it very easy to drink.

WOW, drinking this is like having sex on velvet and the purest Chinese silk. Magnificent to say the least!

= envious.

I am saving a bottle i received from Mrs Johns (Hardy’s Eileen Hardy Shiraz 2004) for a recent b'day. Cannot wait to open it up over a gorgeous steak on a winters evening sitting on the back deck waiting for the mightier to run out.

Two glasses down, this stuff is delicious and drinking it's best now I would say. Black cherries from the Tempranillo and Grenache, but the two Portuguese grapes (and the tempranillo) add spice and earth. Nice oak too, loads of character, highly recommend
