I have actually tried the Brown Bros in the past, they also make a Dolcetto which I have tried an enjoyed before.

Will take a look and see if I can pick up a bottle from Adelaide Hills. Cheers lads.

Well yeah the Phi is stunning....hard pressed to get it under $20 though :p

The nero is indeed italian. From Sicily. A little rustic, which I like, but very full bodied with loads of fruit.

Forester Estate Cab Merlot...it's not listed on the label but that jubey purple fruit character of petit verdot in the blend is searingly obvious, which is good, for me. Wouldn't be surprised if there was some malbec as well, that or the merlot they use is stupidly plummy.

Anyway, damned good wine for the monies. $17 or thereabouts. Check it out

Just can't get into Cab Merlot for some reason. Tastes... well, just doesn't taste right.

Any of you guys tried stuff from Some Young Punks? I'm a sucker for a sexy bottle and they have some great art on their labels.

Good news is their wine is terrific too.

The SYP wines are excellent. They present well in retail which was fantastic for me, but the juice inside is top quality. My pics were Squid Fist and Monsters Monsters Attack

Had duck for dinner so I shuffled through the stores for a mid range pinot. Old Coach Road Nelson Pinot Noir....sample from a rep, awful (honestly unsellable) label but the wine is pretty handy actually.

That is something we are doing at work at the moment is going through our BOB labels. They got the shock of their life by the response since they hired two ex-retailers in the last 6 months.

Did laugh though. We were discussing new products and labells, someone said something and I blurted out LOL as a remark.

We are now looking at launching a range of wines called LOL...

You need a third ex retailer? In the ACT region? :p Hahah

It's amazing to me though how man reps just have no idea about the market they're selling to...or the wine they're selling for that matter

Going to pick up another bottle of SYP tomorrow - have my eyes on one called Passion has Red Lips.

Will be picking up a mid range white too - looking for a Pinot Gris or something kinda light and sweet if you lads have a suggestion.

Passion is a good wine. My personal fave is the Naked on Rollerskates.

In terms of a mid range gris/grigio, Coles imports one called Portone that is very good for about 10-12. Innocent Bystander do a ripper for 18 or so
