Yeah it's in the deal, hence I'm eyeing it off. But I spent $265 already :p Like I said, the $20 Xavier Rhone is a cracker, so at the very least the CNDP should be worth $25.

Actually, it's not that bad. Semi regional SA shiraz is usually quite drinkable. Its not for cellaring, but will go down very easily with a good steak.

I cooked up a plate of pasta and went full Italian and its not the worst shiraz I've ever had.

Xavier Chateauneuf du Pape '09. 55% Grenache, 35% Mouvedre + Shiraz. Very fresh minty taste, with a heap of bright red fruits and fine tannin. Touch of eucalypt on the finish.

Do not get me started. You'll never hear the end of it. If I didn't need the money I'd have walked already. They are destroying us

Come work for us. We need intelligent wine savvy people like you. Plus, we kick suppliers in the ass to prevent OOS's from happening.

Glad you're enjoying it!!

GSM - oh how I'm growing to love you. We don't do enough, TBH. Althought we have a Duval GSM I'm keen to get my hands on...

Taylors Tateham's Waterhole Clare Valley riesling, 2013. Lovely lime, lemon and tropical fruits with a long aftertaste and drier, more minerally finish. A real joy to drink, and the wife is into it as well.
Will go well with my curry tonight, due to the medium-high acidity.

It ain't the suppliers fault we're OOS. Tends to happen when you delete over 5000 lines from range arbitrarily

Saw a bottle of sparkling Pinot Noir Shiraz, Chandon. I've never seen Pinot noir sparkling before, certainly sparked my curiosity so looking forward to trying it.

I am a fan of sparkling shiraz, it will be interesting to compare this new variety of sparkling red to the straight bolder shiraz.

Chandon is fantastic. Will go down a treat.

Irvine sparkling merlot is worth a shot too. Bloody good.

There are a few sparkling pinots around, although not many red. They tend to be white Blanc de noirs styles in my experience, or rose and thus completely pointless. I recall the Chandon being very nice

Shame there was no Murdoch James Pinot when you went down SGL. Cracked one tonight, it's very good. Actually quite French in style, in that there is very little oak and very medium bodied fruit with a good smack of pepper. Think of a good Villages style Burgundy, I guess. Absolute ripper for $10, hopefully it shows up on my order this week and I can nab a few more.

Knocked off a cracker sangiovese at the restaurant. La Vendetta, Tuscan sangiovese but unclassified. Absolute belter, loads of cherry, dusty dry tannins, fantastic food wine

Now home, onto 2006 Zema Estate Family Selection cabernet. Pretty good cabernet, probably not 100% ready to drink but the Vinturi helps with that. Huge wine, black fruit, olive, approximately thirteen oak trees in every glass. Bigger than I usually enjoy, but nice nonetheless. Might leave the other four bottles about 25 years though

Heirloom Pinot Noir. Gorgeous stawberry, raspberry, earthy and very smooth. Tio easy to drink.

I got a dozen of them for a hundred bucks online ages ago. Good juice, still got ten left I think.
