tried the Yalumba Patchwork Shiraz last weekend Baz, its a keeper

I'm working my way through the list of Shiraz you gave me

Patchwork is excellent IMO...they source grapes from all over the Barossa, hence the name. Some is floor fruit, so it's jammy and rich...some is Eden Valley, so it's spicy and elegant...some is practically Adelaide Hills so it's peppery and fragrant. The blend just works so well I reckon.

Went out to dinner lasyt weekend before seeing jersey Boys, Had a great bottle 2010 Bouchard Aine et Fils merlot. Loved it.

What is it with First Choice jacking up 2 of my fav red by $5. Coonawarra Mildara and Rhoenix Penely Vale Cab Savs both got jacked up to $23 on the same day .

Settled for a newie, Pirramimma Stocks Hill McLaren Vale Shiraz, I should have paid the exta 5 bucks. Too much berry for mine.

Today being Wynnsday, I couldn't wait to crack a 2010 Black Label Cabernet tonight.....wow. The vintage quality shines through, it was a 10/10 year for Coonawarra and it shows. It'll be interesting to try it tomorrow once it's opened up, but I can already tell it could well be the best Black Label I've tried in my fairly limited years in the job....stock the f**k up, it's already slashed to under 25 at First Choice and Dans

Am LOVING Cabernet's at the moment.
Opened a bottle the other night - Amberley (Margaret River) Secret Lair - Cab Merlot 2008 - got it as a work present 3 yers ago and totally forgot about it. Oh my goodness. I could have swum in it!

Between that and a very discounted case of Marlborough Secret Stone - I've been in a wine happy place lately!

I agree, the carbonation appears to be of vintage quality DKOR. Worth cellaring IMO for maturation, think it will really make it.
