That is a competition between clubs, within a competition between NRL and SL.

Do you think there are other ways the NRL teams can try to give the ESL teams some further leg ups?

Obviously travelling half way round the world, going from our summer to their winter, playing on their home ground and playing them whilst their season has already started clearly isnt enough advantages..

Maybe the NRL teams could be forced to field 7 Holden Cup players?

Ah van walked in the weirdness vs pies game for a high shot on a winger and Westwood was given 10 in the Warrington vs Salford game for a tackle from the shoulder which went high so if we are playing super league rules the winger walks and Benji goes for 10.

If that was reffed like the super league you would have penalty for in every set for holding down at the play of the ball to.

It was reffed like a friendly game.


When did this become a best out of three series?
The saints rabbits game is for the title of best in the world.

The other two games were friendly matches to try and expand a concept to have an international rugby league club game in the future.

Faking hell this site is sad.
Cracking game only two great clubs like Wigan and Broncos could pull-off.
The history being part of the occasion and well attended.
Canberra or Titans could not generate that sort of interest.

The match St George-Illawarra vs Warrington was a quality game. Benji, Widdop and the Duges were the winning factors. We need more international club games like that one.

I've enjoyed both games immensely, they were two good contests with great atmospheres. Hopefully it continues and even comes down under next year or the following.

I didnt think i would enjoy this series so much, but it has really improved the NRL v ESL concept for me....

It used to just feel like a random preseason match, but the 3 games is a nice buildup and provides context for the rivalry as a whole. (I personally think the series trophy should be accepted by the NRL/ESL Chairman to establish the series as a "whole of league" rivalry with the winners of each game getting whatever trophy was attached to that clash).

The few this id change are play it during the post-season rather than as a pre-, maybe play the saturday game in the alternate country to whichever is hosting the Main game and, for the NRL, establish criteria for each of the Leagues champions/representitives (eg: 1 from QLD, 1 from Sydney, 1 from rest).
