What I have seen reported, the reason that he kept his name is Joe has signed exclusively with NXT as opposed to a WWE Developmental contract. He is also still able to wrestle on the indies.

Although the promo he cut was good, I feel it may get the WWE treatment over the next few weeks and get more "sports entertainer" as opposed to wrestler.

It was always going to be tough to top Owens debut. All the cards were in place and NXT capitilised on the situation extremely well.

Joe's debut was never going to live up to that and it achieved exactly what it needed to.

Unfortunately the guy he's facing off against makes a very strong first impression. He's 2/2 so far.

Looking forward to the show. Heard good things about the two championship matches.

It's a catch 22.

The biggest problem with Bray is probably his biggest strength. There is so much creative freedom with a character like that to the point where you can get caught up in working some really dumb finishes (Cena losing to a kid, Wyatt appearing as a genie and Ambrose jobbing to a television) and I think a lot of fans have caught onto the WrestleCrap potential with the character.

Can't agree with this assessment of Wyatt's character at all. He never had the weird, supernatural elements until that feud. Prior to that he'd been an unhinged, charismatic madman in the same vein as Manking. It was their attempt to turn him into something like Undertaker (and protect Cena) that turned him into something borderline Wrestlecrap.

Bray's always had the supernatural elements. The way he'd randomly appear like the footage was tampered with was a new twist on the 'gong' spot.

That was a cool idea, you know what wasn't? The angle where the Wyatt Family decided to abduct Bryan and nobody really cared at all.

That whole angle was really poorly written but that's just how it goes with characters like Bray, Abyss and Kane. They've got deep intricate storylines and writers can't help but get carried away with it.

Mankind probably would have gone down a similar route if it wasn't for JR.

There's no shame in losing to Cena in a close fought match as a one off. It's when they do it 3-4 times that it starts to damage a guy's momentum.
