Bloody Sheamus. Very disappointing match with the worst possible winner.

I thought the match was ok, but agree, it shouldn't have been Sheamus. Given the direction they're taking almost anyone else would've been a worthy winner, except Kane. I guess we know why Reigns didn't win it - they now want him to feud with BW and have Brock take on Rollins next PPV. You know what this means... Rollins will obviously win

He'll lose at SummerSlam IMO.

^ who knows mate, hes always been a massive gibberer.

I've lost a lot of interest post Mania in WWE and even NXT in a way.

Maybe burn out from watching 4 shows a week plus the PPV's. Keeping up with Owen's though. He has been sensational.

How did you manage that scotty?

I tried 8 hours a week of wrestling and was dying of boredom by the end of the month.

The writing has been really poor and while Seth has a lot of qualities to make it as a heel champion, a lot of his segments have been poorly thought out and undermined whatever heat he was getting. He basically feels like a pawn of the Authority, instead of his own personality like Corporate Rock.

You know it's bad when the best segments most week have something to do with Cena.

Who will Owens feud with next? Still Cena or someone else now? Actually I'd like to see him take on Cesaro... and not in the SmackDown nuffy way, I mean a real feud.

i havent been able to finish the last few episodes of smack down and raw. MITB was pretty sub standard too. Owens is pretty much the only good thing going at the moment. Its like the wwe are purposefully trying to swerve the audience by having the last person everyone wants win. Sheamus as Mr Money in the Bank, the last two royal rumbles, PTP over the new day. It seems like they dont even care about booking anything for anyone other than Cena. Harper and Rowan have been senselessly seperated and reformed when they could have been the centre of the tag divison for years. The womans division is so misguided its cringeworthy. Now even NXT seems pretty mundane as theyve tried to transplant their best on to the wwe roster. I think wwe need to seriously consider firing their whole writing team and get some fresh minds in there.

Sheamus is one of the best heels in the entire industry and can easily hold his own in the main events.

The Money in the Bank concept should have been scrapped but the only other option that was deserving was Reigns.

BP, I sometimes think you say things just because it's not popular opinion. So, I would like to hear your thoughts on why Sheamus is one of the best heels in the entire industry?

Believe me, a dead sub-board of a Rugby League forum is the last place I'd base my opinion on.

Sheamus is one of the few guys in modern wrestling to understand that to be an effective heel you've got to be utterly detestable. Too many guys in wrestling get caught up in being too entertaining, to the point where they forget their role is to let the babyface shine. A guy like Owens is the perfect example of this. Owens has never been a great heel. He's a quality worker when he doesn't get too caught up in the independent style but when it comes to letting others get over he's never been that good. And I'm not basing that on just Cena either because let's face it, Daly Cherry-Evans would get cheered over Cena at this point but it's been a problem since his ROH days.

Similar deal with Bray and his sing-a-longs, Rollins and his flashy moves etc.

Meanwhile Sheamus understands his role and is so effective at it he's able to work everybody while maintaining some of the best power-house offence of anybody in wrestling.

If the WWE don't undermine him with King Barrett esque booking he'll be a great foil to a lot of babyfaces moving forward and will continue to deliver a strong array of in-ring work where he's easily one of the most consistent.

But I think that has more to do with an aging pro wrestling fan base who don't but into the "cheer for the face, boo the heel" dynamic any more - they just want to be entertained.

And honestly - heel Cesaro, heel Owens, heel Rollins, heel Wyatt and heel Dallas are, imo, charismatic and entertaining enough that the mature fans don't care if they're heels - they get cheered because they're great.

I'm pretty sure they could do a storyline where Stone Cold comes back, and Owens comes out and destroys him, and people would still Mark out because Owens is so damn badass and awesome.

Well I believe Reigns would have won it if they didn't have Brock Lesnar returning. Now, with Sheamus as Mr. MitB, we'll likely see the Rollins/Lesnar continue to feud go into SummerSlam where Lesnar will win. Then we'll have Sheamus cash in MitB and have a Sheamus/Lesnar feud. Reigns will be on he back-burner but probably prevail at TLC. Also if Bryan returns (and returns in time), expect him to win the RR.

That's a cop out.

Fans will boo the heels if the heels do their job and act the way they should. Look at ECW for instance and guys like Shane Douglas and Raven. Great workers but also huge heel workers because they knew all the subtleties to draw heat.

And before you say "well that was in the 90s"

There's CM Punk who despite being an Indy darling drew great heat when he was apart of SES and was still doing a stellar job with Heyman in 2013.

Fans will boo if the heels do their job instead of hitting the panic switch and hitting non-sensical high spots because the fans aren't responding to the match as well as they'd like.

Meanwhile guys like Rusev and Sheamus know their job and make a lot of good choices inside the ring that earns them heat.

In fairness, I think the babyfaces are doing an even worse job than the heels at present but that's a subject for another topic.

i don't watch any of it live. i record raw, main event, nxt, superstars, smackdown onto my foxtel IQ harddrive, and watch it later and fast forward through all the commercials (and there are heaps).
