Better off how? No one is better off in NXT long term. Having great matches in NXT 'forever' doesnt put cash in the wallet

Because I have my doubts on WWE being able to handle his booking, where as if he had a better track record in NXT, I'm sure they would have treated him better.

So far he's already been apart of even steven booking and got his ass beat by Cena despite John being involved in a 30 minute match.

Rushing guys onto WWE TV isn't a great idea. Compare Seth Rollins to Cesaro. Rollins was in developmental a lot longer than Cesaro but when a spot opened up, he was given one of the best pushes in sometime.

Meanwhile, Cesaro, who was arguably a better main event prospect has been struggling to find his place despite his ability to get himself over.

Finding RAW a little bleh at the moment

Ambrose in limbo a bit at the moment

Sheamus as MITB - Gah

The whole Ziggler/Lana thing is just urgh

And every time I start being slightly less annoyed with Reigns he'll do something stupid like c**k his fist or say something corny.

Ryback I just can't seem to get interested in.

It's sad when the most interesting thing about RAW for me each week involves John Cena (without a mic)

Would like to see something happen that shakes things up a bit - somehow.

I will agree with you on that final point in the sense that if Cesaro was in NXT right now he would debut at a very high level

But some of these guys are so advanced in age you cant linger too long or you miss the boat

Owens isn't one of them. He's only just turned 31, which is actually young in wrestling years.

It's all spilled milk now. Owens is here, he's one of the more engaging parts of the show and hopefully he takes the torch from Cena and carves a legacy of his own.

I just think he would have made it regardless and would have preferred to have seen him be the star in NXT while guys like Cesaro, Harper or Big E got the pushes they deserved.

Yeah but Owens can have a 10 year career now, what more seasoning did he need?

The problem is the non booking of more then 1-2 pushes at a time on Raw

Match structure, learning how to sustain heat without blowing it off with cool moves. Getting more in-tune with the WWE style where as he's going to have to learn on the job when really his role could have gone to those names and others.

Guys, what days/times is the wrassling on?

I used to be a massive fan, but dropped off in 2003. Now when I rarely watch it, there's barely anyone I know. Gonna try to get back into it.

RAW is Tuesdays at 11 on Fox 8.

NXT is Thursdays at 1pm.

I'm not sure about SD!.

I'm pretty sure the only one he'll learn from the WWE is the WWE style. The guy has had match structure and sustaining heat down for so long now it's not even funny.

You don't go to the WWE to improve as a wrestler. You go there to make money and improve as a sports entertainer.

It's been a long while now since you tuned in to the WWE to see great matches.

I can't see you lasting an episode Deano. The show is only for kids or tragics who can't move on.

Since when? Because it's an aspect he's struggled with for years and even his latest matches with PAC and Cena were filled with shine moments that could only ever get 'pops' for him.

He works well with Sami, but you'd expect that considering they've been working together for over a decade now and Zayn is one of the best babyfaces in the business.

Outside of that, Owens can't help himself.

Which isn't to say he's the shits at all, just an area he struggles with and an area the WWE cares about more than any other promotion.

It's been a long while now since you tuned in to the WWE to see great matches.

Yet fans are more likely to get great matches out of the WWE than out of promotions like ROH or TNA.

Funny what signing the best talent around the world can do.

Take NXT out of the picture (as it is for most casual fans) and that's extremely debateable. TNA for all of its booking problems is still producing better wrestling than Raw/Smackdown on a week to week basis, and the likes of ROH, Lucha Underground, and most of Japan are producing in spades as well.

The day Vince hangs it up, the WWE will be far and away the best promotion for *wrestling* in the world. They've got the workers, but they're wasted on three minute matches, pointless TAG MATCH PLAYA booking, and feuds and combinations nobody wants to see.

I thought we were talking about great matches. Sure, top to bottom ROH is going to give you a more consistent card but it's been a long time since they've been able to rattle off great matches one after the other. The best they can manage is the Super Junior Tag spot matches which barely raise an eyebrow in NJPW.

TNA is a non-factor on the great matches front. Just a ton of spotty matches undermined with poor finishes.

I'm not arguing that the WWE is the greatest in-ring promotion in the world but to suggest it's been a long while since fans have been treated to great wrestling when the likes of Daniel Bryan, Seth Rollins and Cesaro have been able to do their thing is off-base.

Even then, the WWE have always cared about the in-ring product. It's never been about 'work-rate' which has to be one of the most overrated aspects in wrestling but rather psychology and getting fans interested in the action.

And tying this back to my original point, it's an area Owens hasn't quite perfected yet and is one of several reasons why I wish they had have kept him off so he could have developed it along with other aspects to ensure he gets the run he deserves.

So do you guys reckon our own GiGi will make it as a WWE Diva? She has potential to go better than Emma (then again, who doesn't?) :)

And he wouldn't be the first guy to come in with a greenlit push only to drop off.

Look at Jericho.

Comes in with big plans.

Months later he's working nothing matches against X-Pac and Chyna.

Owens is a great talent but he's got aspects going against him.

Got any matches you'd recommend SGL?

The only match that's really hit a chord with me was between Spud/Carter III which was really well put together sports entertainment match.

The rest I've come across have suffered from the aforementioned issues.
