What was that about always getting the last word in 18th? Sounds like you're just as bad as me bud.

It's not a case of being easily pleased, it's called being pleasantly surprised.

Given the three top contenders were unavailable (Orton - injured, Cena - fired, HHH - injured) and the rest were involved in the KotR tournament I had no issue with a legend taking on Miz under the proviso it was the legend's first ever WWE title match (not exactly true, but believable) and in a TLC match.

The match basically showed anything can happen, the dangers and the pitfalls and you can't take your eyes off the screen for a moment. Was it revolutionary? No, but it achieved it's purpose so it's fine by me.

This doesn't mean I want to see Lawler become a regular, it just means his performance was alright by me...and well a lot of others too.

If you didn't like the concept because you hate a 60 year old competing with the world champ that's fine by me, I just happen to like good story telling, no matter the age of the combatant. To me, good enough is old enough.

FFS - agree to disagree Pete and spare us whatever your just spewed on to the forum  You went the long way around to justifying that yes, you're in actual fact easily pleased.

I'll agree to disagree when you stop throwing petty insults my way.

It's Pro Wrestling, we all watch it, by definition we're all easily pleased...

You're calling me precious in spite of the fact you generally draw issues when somebody happens to disagree with you?

That whole agree to disagree remark generally annoys me because it's always preceded by or followed with a condescending remark. My theory is if you want somebody to shut up, you just ignore them.

Anyone else think it feels like mum and dad are fighting in the forum?

Thought it was a pretty good year for raw, highlight was easily all the Nexus things that they did, the general "holy sh*t" when they attacked on raw was really something. Got some new main eventers coming through this year, mainly Miz and Barrett. I would say it was better than raw in 2009, and the new year will hopefully start strong, although I think they will seriously start missing Jericho once everyone gets over Orton and the fact he can be a little bit to boring to listen to.

:? Wow. You will go to any length to get the last word atop your pedastool and resort to making BS up.

I draw issues when somebody disagrees with me? Really? I mean really? You seem to think you're an authority on ANY topic or debate your enter/start if you want to get to the bones of it Pete. You can't let an opposing opinion lie.

I must be watching something else.

Agree to disagree.
Your reply,

I'd say so.

Lawler is really over with the crowd, I thought it would tank too but they did a great job and Lawler's old school expertise really shone through.

For what it was, filler while Orton took a week off, I thought it was good and it didn't hurt anybody.
My reply,

A little arrogant Pete? (Which your reply was)

No, I was watching what you saw for what it's worth and I think you're overstating the "fact". Again, I agree to disagree.
You got all precious and you have continued to slide from there.

Can't see any condescending remarks with my "agree to disagree". You have only proven that you can't let an opposing opinion lie and just have to have the last word where you get all high and mighty. An ugly trait for one so young (that's condescending).

Get over yourself, respect the fact we all have an opinion and move the f$#% on.

You do.

Check the International board for a great example.

Way to change your first post. I pointed out what I had an issue with.

Get over yourself, respect the fact we all have an opinion and move the f$#% on.

You're the one who drew an issue with my opposing opinion, an opinion you originally thought didn't exist.

If you want to continue this, feel free to do it over PM. Let's keep this thread on topic.

CM Punk V Cena feud could be very short lived if Cena's injury is anything serious.

Took a nasty bump during Barrett's wasteland finisher and the match had to be stopped before a quick finish. Cena then got up and said if he has to take time off then so be it but he won't be carried out of the ring.

I imagine there's some very nervous people in the WWE right now.

I must of missed it but what happened between Barrett and Nexus... is he still part of it now that Punk is running it

If Cena is out long term Barrett will probably go face and take Cena's place and have a long term program with Punk. You know it's true.

Aye you could be right MM but I hope not. Barrett's got the heel persona down to a fine science.

Morrison loses, Randy Orton beats Sheamus and Barrett to become no.1 contender at the Rumble. CM Punk screwed Barrett out of the win, kicked out of nexus.

Miz/Morrison was great and a career defining performance by both men. Morrison gave everything in this match and with Miz picking up the victory he was made to look very strong.

Then there were two really weird tag matches which basically cooled the audience down.

Followed by an up and down Del Rio vs. Truth match which did a good job of putting Del Rio as a character but technically speaking it wasn't a good match. I really do rate this Del Rio character and could at this point, accept him as champion of Smackdown.

Then there was the triple threat between Sheamus, Barrett and Orton inside a steel cage where the winner would receive a title shot at the Rumble. Barrett also had his own motivation, if he lost he'd be kicked out of Nexus. So it came down to this spot where Barrett was having trouble climbing the cage after Sheamus injured his elbow so Punk came out and offered his hand to help him up the cage, but instead of lifting Wade, Punk collected him with a kick to the face, knocking him off the cage which allowed Orton to steal the victory away.

As Marshall said, there was no Cena, his time off was explained that Cena had sustained some serious injuries after TWO beatdowns at the hand of Nexus. One on Raw, the other at a house show. I believe he's returning next week.

All in all, a good show to start the year off, if you have the chance check out the opener and if you have more time, the cage match. The former was great while the latter was also entertaining for what it was.

Smackdown should also be reasonably entertaining this week.

You forgot to mention that Punk ripped off Barrett's Nexus arm band.

I might be wrong, but could this be the beginning of a Barrett face turn?

I thought I'd save that detail for others to see, I covered the more important aspects.

Again, I hope not, I just hope it's a way for Barrett to go solo and be awesome.
