I dare say many of us agree regarding Mignolet. Problem is the squad has many holes in it and some of those are more pressing in my opinion (e.g. strikers (due to injuries), wingers) that need addressing first.

Yeah fair call, I can understand that. Some width is definitely crucial in the next window.

A proper defensive mid and defensive depth is more important than up front. Coutinho, Firmino and Lallana are starting to get a grove.
Fix the defence and the anxiety of scoring will be relaxed.

cb4, what the F*** is Sturridge's problem this time??!!

Nearly every single time this fella is due for a comeback, he suffers a new injury set back RIIIIGHT before his injury return, and he seems to suffer a lot more injuries off the field than on it. What a f***ing joke. I've had enough of it.

Nope. Mignolet is a smart guy but prone to being a space cadet on the field. He has had way too many brainfarts.

He trained with the subs then complained of foot soreness. Sounds like he was cut at being a reserve.

Really important win after all the other results around us !

Wasn't fluid this morning but we still won, which is a positive sign.. Winning becomes a habit and hopefully this is an example of that.

Solid game by Can and the back 4.

Most pleasing thing is minutes for DS and JH.

I stumbled out of bed to watch this morning's game. I missed the first 5 minutes admittedly.

The first 25 minutes of the match the team were all over Swansea. Swansea were not given a moment's peace being harried wherever they went. The passing, when in possession, was crisp and fluid. Problem was it lead to virtually no shots at goal. Liverpool had about 66% possession during this period but could not get the ball into decent shooting position in the box.

Problem was that opening 25 minute flurry seemed to drain the team a bit as they we were noticeably flatter in the second half. Pace was a lot slower compared to that opening 25 minutes, and it seemed like it had taken a toll on some of our players.

The goal from the penalty was probably a bit lucky to be honest. It was a handball in the 22 yard box, but if you look at any replay, you would be hard pressed to say it was deliberate.

I thought Can had an excellent game, as did Moreno, Ibe and Clyne. Lovern and Skrtel were solid for much of the game.

Mignolet wasn't tested much but again he got a yellow card for holding onto the ball too long. His head must be made of granite to make that mistake again after what happened in the last game.

A win is a win. 3 points banked.

I remember when penalty was called all day everyday if you had your hands high looking or not....that's why defenders put their hands behind their backs...not sure why it's so grey nowadays

When you jump like that it is always with intention to block the ball, it's defenders responsibility to bring their arm down or don't jump at all

You're f**king kidding me, he did it again? I didn't watch the game, I had work in the morning

The guy speaks at least 4 languages so he's obviously intellectually smart, but holy f**k the nutter is like Forrest Gump on a football field.

he got a yellow for not clearing a goal kick in a reasonable time,.....which i don't mind because it doesn't hurt anyone other than himself with the yellow card. much different to holding the ball too long and conceeding an indirect free kick + making an absolute shamozzle of the wall.

his control of the box has gone back to being diabolical however.

I know, but you'd think that after that Bordeaux debacle, the principle of not holding on for too long would ring loud in his head. Seriously though, what the hell is he waiting for? Whether it be for a goal kick or a clearance during the course of play, I'd feel awkward waiting that long to kick it. r

The guy is a complete dawdler, but it's one of his less highlighted flaws. He dawdles with goal kicks and dithers with clearing the ball. If he receives a back pass, he always makes the one extra unnecessary touch, which lets the attacker put him under more pressure. It's not even the first time he's completely embarrassed himself because he dawdled too much. Remember when he let a team mate's back pass go out for a corner because he waited too long to clear it? f**k me, the guy just doesn't learn...

I agree with everything you're saying but the yellow against Swansea this morning was a clever professional foul for time wasting which is exactly what we needed at the time

I'm all aboard the mignonet bash wagon but happy to give him cred where due

I reckon Liverpool, right at the moment, are in a bit of a title race. We've been to United, been to Chelsea, been to City, been to Spurs, been to Arsenal, been to Everton and been to Stoke- and we're only 6 points off the top of the table. Who'd have thought we'd be in this position after the 'nightmare' early run when we saw the fixture list for the first time? I didn't. Assuming the squad stays relatively fit, can continue their away performance groove and improve on their home form, there's no reason to believe we can't be in a title race. I'm not saying we're going to win it, but for me there's currently enough reason to believe we're in contention.

You can call me crazy, but that's what people said when I suggested many months ago that Klopp would turn his head towards this job.

Fairly confident of CL qualification.

Winning the title not too sure, but gee we could give it a fair crack.
