Klopp... The man is immense. I can't believe this is the same Liverpool team (pretty much anyway) that lost 6-1 to stoke and was playing that rubbish at the start of the season.

Buzzzzzzzzing and I've only seen the highlights, have to download a replay from somewhere.

Klopp to the fore, we are just playing with so much more confidence it's chalk and cheese to a few months ago.

And that is f**king why we need to mould Emre Can into midfield. The talent is clearly there. What a f**king ball to Sturridge, what a goal.

I'm so gutted that I missed this game. I was talking to my mates on fb group chat while at work and they weren't painting a pretty picture in the first 5 minutes, but all of a sudden, as I kind of expected would eventually happen, we hit back. Forget what Rodgers used to say, this team now actually has character.

We were actually diabolical for the first 20 minutes at least, and even after the equaliser we were still patchy, it was because the first few goals came from moments of brilliance as opposed to sustained brilliance that IMO Southampton became disheartened, and wouldn't you if you're team was playing well for each other only to see the opposition have players like Sturridge do what he does?

After the 3rd goal it wasn't a contest and we were able to express ourselves, but I'd be taking that with a grain of salt, there are many getting way too ahead of themselves ATM. Some games you play f**king awesome and can't find the back if the net, this was one where we were shite (emre especially for the first goal) and banged everything in. That's football

After all the results this weekend, the potential 3 points against Newcastle tonight is huge!!

Newcastle have been horrible and will be desperate tonight.. If we can get an early goal we should be fine.

This is what is the annoying part of the last couple of years. The side plays well and beats contenders yet then turns around and loses to those in the relegation zone

I'm sick of this 'reality check' bullshit that some pseudo-nostradamuses out there are dribbling out. Title challenge or not, Liverpool were going to have more bad games and more losses between now and May.

I've seen a good bulk of fans talk of a possible title challenge, but most of them aren't stupid enough to solely base it on one decent win. Chelsea was our first decent win, but I wouldn't go near the title talk at the time. Things have changed though. We have factored in 3 outstanding wins away from home against formidable opponents, we have factored in what is basically inevitable improvement, and we have factored in our fixtures, retrospectively and prospectively.

If people think one loss conveys a whole reality then they're fools.

$300 on Newcastle at $5.75 was money to steal. Could see that loss coming.

First game Klopp has gotten wrong from start to finish

Yeah, he is mortal after all.

Chris, I really believe now that Benteke is our problem, that dude on the index podcast after the Soton game was right. Benteke can not start games, he needs to be subbed on at the right moment to provide a different dimension if need be. That is when he can positively influence the team.

It's not our pressing style that's the problem against teams who sit back, ala Newcastle and home opponents, it's Benteke. He's a very good player, but its too hard to break teams down while he offers negligible movement off the ball. We're not a team that otherwise knows how to play in the style of whipping it into a big target man.

It's no coincidence that as soon as Lallana and Sturridge came on, we looked more threatening. You can argue creativity was better but Firmino wasn't given a chance to try and service Sturridge.

it wasn't only the fact the newcastle "parked the bus", they also compacted entirely to the middle 3rd and challenged us to go around them which we failed to do. benteke's presence if we adjusted to this would have been perfect, but we chose instead to bang our head against a wall to suit the opposition.

ibe our best chance against this setup continues to show all the razzle and dazzle with extremely aggravating end result.

put this one down solely on klopp.

Benteke is not a starter in our set up. Impact sub. Add to the fact Moreno cant cross a ball and Clyne isnt much better. Ibe is so, not for a team wish big ambitions. He wont cut the mustard.

Klopp got it wrong.

shaqiri has been up and down for stoke, but vs man city showed the type of quality on the wing we're so desperately missing at the moment.

Klopp will sell him. Hate to be in denial but we have an overhaul happening again.
