Worst thing is he has put Liverpool in a lose-lose situation...
Before the bite there was talk of $80-86 million transfer fee which means for us we could have potentially brought in an extra 3-5 first team players. Obviously you can't just go and replace a player of Suarez's ability (Tottenham and Bale proved that) but in the long term at least we would of added to the squad as a whole and it would have eased the pain.
Now after thisincident if there are any clubs that are still interested, now considering they know they can't use him for four months you would have to assume its going to knock a considerable amount off his transfer fee.
On the other side of the coin if he is to stay then we are going to have to be forking out four months of his wages for no return. Add to this the fact that after being out of the CL for so long, we now face missing our best player in the first few crucial games.
If we grow a set and fine him or dock his wages during this time then it will just p*ss him off and he will carry on like a pork chop like at the start of last season and potentially put the whole squad into a funk.
Liverpool have to act quickly and decide which path they want to take, thus if we decide to cash in (at a lesser cost) at least they can start targetting replacements. After the WC finishes the transfer market is going to go Bananas.
