Brendan has a tactical problem.
Chelski showed parking the bus is the way to beat us at home.
Villa came and did the same.
He never learnt anything from the Lesson he was dealt.
18 shots with only 1 on target.
Villa had one on target but converted it.

Sterling is a speedster that can stretch the defence.
In the very least he will make defenders tired from chasing.
Villa never looked stretched at any time.
Already had Sturridge out so why was Sterling left out?
Don't give me the wearing him out rubbish.
The guys 19.
He's probably our best player over the last 6 months.
Limit his time when he's 30.

He's 19 but his body could still be developing. Our problem was that we had too many players on the field new to each other, akin to 11 strangers being put on the field. That's why there was no chemistry. There wasn't our usual lightning fast play because we didn't have the players yet accustomed to it, such as Balotelli and Lallana, and we didn't have the formation that we do it the best in. IMO if we had our spurs line-up against Villa we could have easily cruised to a win.

The quicker they get to know one another the better, sometimes you just gotta bite the bullet.

They are also representative players and so when they play international football they are playing with people they dont normally play with so you cant really keep using that as an excuse and at some stage you just have to look at the individuals and say this bloke aint up to it or he has been a disappointment.

They wont all fire as you expect.

Yes, at some stage. But this was one game. Players playing internationally still often have a feel for each other's game because they've played with each other internationally numerous times, despite the infrequencies.

I think even with Sturridge out we need to go back and play in a diamond like we did against Spurs. We just looked a lot more fluent and movement was a lot better also, I know Villa parked the bus but we couldn't find space at all.

Balotelli played alright on the weekend but he had no support, I'd have him up front with either Lambert/Borini or even Sterling, I think Sterlings finishing has improved enough where he can be a stop gap solution up front. Then depending on who partners Balo we can have Coutinho or Sterling at the point of the diamond, with Henderson and Lallana in support and Gerrard playing deep.

Yer stupid pre-game preview thing was wrong.

Coutinho needs to play in the 10 or not at all for mine, he is trying hard but has been poor just like all season.

I don't know what's happened to Sakho. He had a very good WC but he's been off since.

Not sure if it's just a matter of developing a combination with Lovren but he was responsible for Saturday's corner and was in no man's for their goal tonight.

He's good in the air and on the ball but his decision making at times leaves a lot to be desired. His partnership with Lovren will obviously get better the more they play but I just have a gut feeling that a Lovren/Skrtl partnership may be more effective, just think they may compliment each other better as they are similar players.

Very lucky today, we are playing flat and without direction. Rodgers has some work to do with the new team he has built.

I'm still open minded on Sakho.
Lovren has made some big defensive errors but Sakho seems to be the fall guy.

One other thing was that a penalty?
Ok the ref gave it but I'm not even sure the keeper touched Manquillo.
Commentators went along with the ref but we all know where one of them played his football.
