rodger's issue right now is that he doesn't have a plan b because he put all his eggs in one basket on plan a working. he banked on sturridge being fit and didn't foresee how much was at risk to him if sturridge got injured.

he doesn't trust ballotelli or borini to play in his setup and he refuses to change away from it because it seems that's all he knows

so in january the owners either have to back him to the tilt and buy him a striker or 2 that will re-align the 4th wheel to the cart or bring in someone else now that can deploy the current squad in a different way.

who could do that? i think rafa can!

He also banked on getting 16 million from Southampton, for Borini, to buy a class striker- so I'm told by someone quite in the know

People say that Rodgers shouldn't be given any money, but IMO you trust your manager with your money if you intend to keep him, because Liverpool aren't going to get anywhere if they don't invest.

$16M AU maybe, if it's pound sterling someone's pulling your leg.

Sunderland met our 14m valuation from memory but Borini refused. I'd love the owners to throw the $$$ but people need to realise the FFP implications. If we sell players in January then we will be able to buy, but as it stands right now it doesn't look like we will be getting any Champs League prize money due to our spending. The owners have taken on big debt with the stadium upgrade as well.

Yep, needed to replace Luis and we didn't. Sure we could never replace his quality but we didn't even try to get someone of absolute quality. Instead buying Markovic, Ballotelli and Origi.

How in the f**k does Allen keep getting picked over Lallana? Lallana is a far superior player in every single aspect of the game. BR and his bullshit arraogance no doubt. Thank god for the 3 points

Thought we had to win this mornings match to proceed to the next round.
Saw the team selected and had such a feeling of frustration there was no way I was ever going to enjoy that match.
Given the situation of the competition I thought we'd be rolling out our best team minus our injured striker.
I'll highlight it again £100 million spent and we rolled that side out in a must win game.
Also thought we kept a clean sheet for one of the rare times last game.
What's the manager do?
Drop the main reason we had a clean sheet.
Was Kolo injured?
Don't get me wrong he's an average defender but we keep a side scoreless for the first time in ages and we go and drop the guy who's made the difference.
Our main playmaker gets benched. We were so much better when he came on even with 10 men that it must be obvious he should start.(Coutinho)
Gerard's been outstanding since Lucas has come back so I can live with that but no Lallana and Allen starts just has me mystified?

It's mind boggling Foz, Lallana has Hendo like stamina and work rate and is one of our only creative outlets.he and Couts were a must. I would've been happy to see Lallana start over Hendo and Couts start over Allen. Rodgers pushed hard for Lallana, out laid 27m for him and them won't play him.

Reckon GK pre contract deal. Someone like Neto from Fiorentina and that'll be it for us. Honestly see more going than coming.

If we play against United like the way we did in the last 10 mins against Basel, we win. Simple. Rodgers for some stupid reason is questioning himself this season. He has made us completely abandon our identity of last season, which not only Liverpool fans loved, but neutrals too. I pray to God that he gets rid of this absolutely ridiculous attempt at a slow possession strategy that clearly never works for us. It's blindingly obvious that we don't create chances anymore because we're too slow.

Step 3 play 4-4-2 diamond. Step 4 tell your players to relentlessly press. Apparently some genius called Rodgers pioneered this.

I was listening to ESPNFC, and Craig Burley was asked if he believes Rodgers is the right man. He stressed that his answer to that has ALWAYS been no, and that last season was mostly due to the two up front. Shaka Hislop doesn't support Rodgers either. What do you think of that (albeit perpetuated) theory?

They must have a dart board with players names on it at Anfield.Brendan throws the dart and if it lands on the players name your in.
Where do you start?
First throw lands on Brad Jones.
Brad your in.Simon your out.
Mignolet is that far above Jones I wouldn't even of considered that one.
Buying a new keeper in the transfer period yes.Brad Jones no.

Striker.Cant score with the guys who play there so we'll give Sterling a go up there.A guy who hasn't scored himself for 16 games.
He's our best player and has to be in the side but not striker.

Joe Allen.Sorry I'm not a fan.
Johnson-use by date expired about 2 years ago.
Lovren is not the answer in defence.Havent wiped him as he may be one of those guys who will grow into the role but he's not the answer at the moment.

The strange thing is Manure are one ordinary side and they've just thrashed us by 3.
They look to have as many problems as us but they've showed enough fight to be in the Champions League race.
They might of got the rub of the green a bit in this one but they took advantage of it.
I doubt we would've done the same.
A few of our guys seem to give up the ghost a bit early but I'm thinking it's more they don't know their role in the side.
That's a managerial problem.
