Bacca's actually had three decent scoring seasons in a row, 25, 14 and 20 respectively.

Re: Benteke, who cares what he was worth 2 years ago? That's the price you pay for him right now. You either spend the money because you think he's worth it, or you grumble about it and don't.

Firmino in for 25 possibly rising to 29. That's good business, Firmino and Coutinho are going to be very dangerous behind a quality striker.

Considering how Rogers wants his sides to play, it seems strange LFC would go after Benteke. Benteke plays s similar stytle to Ballotelli and regardless of what you think of Balo, Rogers style does not suit Balo's style of play. As such going after Benteke just seems crazy to me, especially when you consider Sturridge is reportedly out until September-October this year.

What are you on about?

i will apologise because i just realised it was a mate of mine on whatsapp that reckoned we could get him for 17m, and because of your thread saying how easy it was to get talent from sterling's money, i mistook him for you.

29m doesn't leave alot of change is the point

All good.

The Echo I think mixed up euros with pounds, as 25mill euros would be 17.8mill pounds, but it appears as if everywhere else is reporting it as 25mill pounds, possibly rising to 29 based on the usual clauses.

Having said that, apparently Inter want 30mill euro for Kovacic - which is 21mill pounds, so we'd significantly strengthen our side with the 50 we got from Sterling.

Depending on who else goes out (Borini, Coates, Lambert), assuming you have 10-15mill in player sales, that gets you Clyne, and you likely have 30-40mill in funds to use for a forward.

It's not bad business if they do it right. Firmino and Kovacic would be a good start.

i get you're trying to make a point, but you're being extremely generous with your numbers to try and make it.

sterling will probably end up going for 45 ish.

kova 25 (what i think he'll end up going at) and firmino 29 combined =54 already.

we'll be lucky to get 5 mill for borini, (the sunderland bridge is burnt) and if anything for coates and lambert (free transfers). add clyne = another 10 mil spend

that's 20mill already before we land our "star striker".

this is the reality of how f**ked up fsg have made things for the club

Wow shocked we've apparently got Firmino. Thought he was Msnc bound for sure, we obviously offered more $$$$ and probably some sort of guarantee about playing time. Like the signing and can't wait to see him playing off Couts and Studge.

Another thing that I'm chuffed about is Tiago Ilori apparently being given assurances from the club that he will be given a shot in the first team this season. Kid has tonnes of potential and could turn into a great CB if given the chance. He looked like being sold at a loss a few weeks ago.

Yeah, United were never actually close to signing him. All they did was enquire about him, Liverpool thought it'd be smart to move in while they were still making their mind up. He actually turned down City for a number of reasons, Jack. Ed1 told me.

Good to see us go hard and not stuff around for once. Pales in comparison to the Kovacic efforts, where we have apparently pissed Inter off so much due to our dealings with them that they are hoping to sell Kovacic, if they have to, to anyone but us.
