why are we buying another RB? We have wisdom coming back, Manquillo is still at the club and will cost money to end his loan deal. Waste of money IMO getting him in. Could be 10-15m extra towards trying to get Bacca or some other striker.

Hoping to see some sales from us as well, Aspas only one so far I think.

Manq is young and pretty average imo, Wisdom is talented but still pretty raw but will definately get his chances this year to show what he can offer.

Clyne is a proven PL quality player, good signing if they can get it over the line.

The signing makes more sense than it first seems. Johnson is gone, BR doesn't rate Manquillo (I think he's a little ordinary too), and Wisdom is still pretty raw.

Also add in the only other option at RB, Jon Flanagan, spent all of last season out injured.

As to Manquillo, do people forget he is only a loan signing? His loan is for 2 years. Simple fact no enquiry has been made into buying him says currently he is not being looked on favourably.

Yeah Clyne is probably an upgrade on what we have, I just hope he isn't another Lovren and just looked good within the Southampton defensive system.

wisdom is a defensive fb more a cb as is flanagan with injuries, manquillo is junk.

clyne is like kieren gibbs, clichy sagna etc. good signing.

I think they are trying to get the core group together as quickly as possible so they have time to gel. Try and avoid another slow start to the year (for once) especially considering our early draw.

I think centre backs can be a lot more misleading than fullbacks though.

Lovren is shit for us because he's a confidence player. Clyne may not be.

Agree Captain A, he's not what we should be going for. Doesn't suit our system at all. He needs someone to light a fire under his ass and play like he's not just another target man up front. Considering we have the worst stats for crosses, Benteke makes no sense.

They probably only want Benteke because he's played EPL.

He just doesn't do enough work off the ball for mine.

Icardi would be perfect or Lacazette even. Both do plenty of work off the ball.

the hope with Benteke is he doesn't seem to be self-absorbed like Balotelli is. No matter how many times you plead Mario to press, he doesn't seem to do it on a long term basis. Benteke isn't known to have that same attitude problem. The guy has a lot of talent, I'll give him that.

Lacazette had already been approached by City apparently and he looks expensive for them so we're already out of that race.

Those style of forwards are what we need tho.
