So does anyone know why Rodgers turned down Sturridge after releasing Carroll? Deal was done apparently.

He has made a mess of this transfer window. Possibly not helped by the owners regarding Dempsey, but he has had plenty of cash to spend.

Guess his preference was Dempsey out of the two and hearing him explain the f**k up of the transfer window, it seems he assumed Dempsey was a done deal and turned Sturridge down.

Gonna be a long couple of months til the new window. Damage will be done by then.

What happened to Liverpool on transfer deadline day was nothing short of comical. They are so short of attacking players it's not funny.

God help them if Suarez goes down with a long term injury. They'd be in the relegration zone come the January transfer window for sure.

Dont know how true it is but I heard the owners denied the manager funds to sign a new striker despite us offloading Carroll on the last day of the deadline.(loan)
I can see us really struggling this year and finishing below last year is a real possibility.
Said it before when everyone wanted to bag Kenny for spending the so called 100 million.(they dont want to take into account his sales)We need to spend 200 million to be competitive. The value of how much selling some of our squad players will raise is diminishing by the game.
Despite the owner saying there was money there if we needed it we cant compete with the funds the Manchesters of this world have at their disposal.

We have problems all over the park though and despite some promising efforts from Joe Allen,Gerrard is the only real spark we have in midfield.
Not hard to bottle him up if its the only threat we have.

Backs are still too slow and Pepe's use by date is surely approaching.

I'm already looking at the next transfer window and are hoping we can spend and its only 3 games in.

It is true. Fulham wanted just 4m pounds more for Dempsey and the owners refused to budge.

Thought we deserved 3 points last night.Glen Johnston,Sterling and Gerrard were all good.Suarez had his usual one goal from 6 chances 1 dive and a free kick he should have got but didnt because of his diving reputation.(a well earned reputation at that)
A really good effort but only one point to show for it at the end of the day.

Thought sterling was our best. How fast are his feet? Looked dangerous plenty of times.

Game as usual highlights how shit our Strikeforce is. Created enough to win and didn't as usual.

Passing game and effort was good, unlucky with a few of the shots on goal but finishing was ultimately the biggest problem.

Would love to see somebody deny any United bias from the referee today...

I usually find it funny when one of the biggish teams gets fckd over by the ref. But this morning was terrible.

Definite red card. But Evans should have gone too. And the penalty was a joke. I guess you come to expect that shit playing United but two in one game is rough.

You guys finished the game with more possession, even with 10 players, so Rodgers is obviously having an affect.
