Great performance overnight beatin Norwich 5-2. Luis bagged another hat trick. Sahin and Stevie with one each. Completed something like 720 passes which is the most by us in the Premier League.

Sahin, Allen and Stevie were a really good midfield set up. Sahin played everywhere and look good. Like Allen, he's very composed and good on the ball, doesn't really make any errors. Absolute must in the 11 IMO. Suso and Luis worked beautifully together, I think this Suso is gonna be a little gem provided Rodgers uses him correctly.

Defence still worries me, we look panicked at times and get caught chasing the ball to much. Was only Norwich but it was still a great performance.

I think youve hit the nail on the head there Jack.
Whilst the defence has overtaken our normal weakness of no wide midfielders (and despite Suarez putting 3 away) we still need a striker.
Flying up the table now.
Funny thing is despite our poor start if we had taken the 3 points off manure last week we wouldve only been 1 behind them.
I suppose a million clubs have similar stories but one win does make the future look brighter.

Yeah and to be honest we should've beaten both Manc clubs this year. I like our style of play and if these kids, particularly sterling and suso are given time and the right development then I think we've already for our 2 wide men.

Thought Wisdom had a decent debut as well.

That starting eleven could be the strongest starting eleven with regards to the "Rodgers" style of play. It was good to see our midfield totally out-pass/out-think theirs (granted Norwich were not the greatest).

Suso - Downing's worst nightmare as he will only keep growing into first grade football. Am I the only one who thinks that with time it might be better to play him more central. He is only young but has a better football brain (and first touch!) then many of more "experienced" players.

Sahin- Showed his quality within his first couple of touches. I have said it before, I reckon Lucas' game time may be reduced. Would not mind Allen doing the donkey work and he and Stevie playing together.

Wisdom - As Jack said, good to see another big, strong who looks like he can handle first team football. Putting his head into a high boot and getting a nice whack would have not gone unnoticed by Rodgers.

Defence - Yep. Still not the best. Over the half the goals we are conceding are self-inflicted.

Smash and grab by Udinese (and dare I say it, good on 'em). You literally can't afford to go to sleep for even a minute.....literally.

Yeah, saw that story as well......but was not sure about the source.

It's probably good work by his agent :)

Looks like young Yesil (or even Morgan) has to step up to the plate. If Suarez gets injured (or banned, more likely)......things could get interesting.

Blessing in disguise. Borini is awful. Surely you've got a decent youngster coming through to take his place.

Nice to see a manager giving young players a go over experienced losers like Downing.

Yeah Rodgers is giving those 2 plenty of game time which is paying off I reckon. Read that Suso is close to signing an extension as well so the Real merkins can f**k off. Suso is gettin a lovely little connection going with Suarez as well, hopefully we're grooming him to become our very own David silva.

My only issue is how they give up once the ball is lost. Sterling not so much as he usually works to win the ball back more often than not, but on too many occasions this season you see our kids only working in attack. The arsenal game was a perfect example of it, as soon the arse hit us on the counter and passed the halfway line they basically stopped tracking back. They work on that alot more and I'll be a lot happier. Still way better than an ineffective post hitting machine in downing.

Also wouldn't mind seeing Rodgers giving the young German Yesil a crack with Borini out. Read plenty of good things about him.

Sterling not so much as he usually works to win the ball back more often than not,

To me, this has been one of the most impressive things in the last few weeks. There was always a worry that he was still a bit too small for the league (which he probably is), but in the last few games his desire to chase and win back lost balls has really been a highlight.

Yeah, it wasn't there he first few games with Raheem. But after the arse game where both he and suso pretty much played in the attacking half exclusively, there has been plenty of effort. Needs to work on building strength but that will come. Can't expect a 4 foot nothing 17yr old to have bullshit Drogba strength. Gee I hope we hold onto him for years to come. He and suso are absolute must keeps.

Any of you watching the "being Liverpool" series on fox?

It's an interesting watch even as a non pool fan.

Yeah is not too bad. Only watched the first episode and half of the 3rd but what I've seen has been pretty interesting. Just have to wonder why the club is doing it. Would love to have gotten a reaction from the players on the 3 Envelopes of failure. Strange motivation ploy specially with all the kids in the team.

Had to laugh and shake my head at the huge painting Rodgers has of himself in his home.

I thought the three envelope thing was a little strange, i assumed he has actions rather than names in there but i am sure he said three people who will let the club down.

Was a little odd.
