Eriksen's stock has fallen in the last year or two.

I don't think 22mill for him is out of the question. In saying that i don't think he'd go to a club in Liverpool's position.

Vs Stoke tonight at home.. a game we should really win! We have a pretty rubbish opening (and mid season, later season to be fair) game record, so it is nice to be at home for the first one this year..

Looks like Suarez is staying which is great.. really couldn't afford to lose him, especially this close to the end of the transfer season..

I am thinking this will be our starting line up tonight:

Mignolet
Enrique-Agger-Toure-Johnson
Allen-Lucas
Coutinho-Gerrard-Aspas
Sturridge

Pretty well rounded team.. nothing to special but solid.

Apart from the 3 points obviously, my highlight was watching 'old' Toure get round the park. Tell you what, we have a new personality at the club. Hew may may be more of a shrewd signing than I thought, especially with regards to having another leader.

Otherwise, looks like it may be the same old story. Lots of chance........failure to finish most of them. We need the biter back asap:D

Well he definitely makes up for it in enthusiasm. Mr Rooney should take a lesson from him in humbleness:D

2 wins from 2!
The Sturridge goal was great. A little disappointing we couldn't get another after having a lot of possession but the 3 points is all that matters.

vs ManU.

Positives:

1. Always good to beat the mancs:D

2. We were lucky at times, but we seem to be defending a lot better this year. Only three games in, but not bad stats.

3. On that note Mignolet seems to have gotten over his early season 'nerves'. (touch wood). He was always the better shot-stopper than Reina, but I thought we would really miss Reina's marshalling at the back. Did well.........and you can see they are training him to be more confident with his distribution as well as with the ball at his feet.

4. International break. It will give time to Johnson to recover. Thought he was our best by far.

5. We have signed some more defenders!

Negatives:

1. Aspas (bless him) looked lost......and totally out-muscled.

2. Victor Moses. Didn't look too impressed did he?:sarcasm: Anyway, maybe he is having trouble with the missus:D I reckon he may see more time on the pitch than Aspas in coming weeks.

Things are certainly looking up but we shouldn't get ahead of ourselves just yet.
My confidence has grown from expecting 6th/7th place finish to having a decent shot at the top 4.
Team actually has some depth now and we have 5-6 winnable games in a row before we play Arsenal.
Hopefully Suarez can slot straight back in and add that extra goal or 2 a game he can create or score.

They certainly are. You guys have sign Sakho and Tiago Ilori, strengthening Liverpools biggest weakness.

We need aly cissokho back ASAP. Enrique is just shit at the moment. Very keen to see sakho and how he'll go for us

I don't think Enrique is going that bad. In fact, I think he went well on Sunday. I am one who would really like to see the youngsters given a go on the wings (Stirling and Ibe). However, due to lack of experience, something tells me we might be seeing both Enrique and Cissokho in the starting line-up once Aly is fit again.

As good as he is, I'd be tempted to keep him on the bench at this rate.

It may not be accurate, but I saw some stats the other day of the winning percentage with and without Suarez, and there was a strong positive skew to without him in the team.

His first 12 months wouldn't have been the best in terms of win % with the team we had but things started to improve after we brought in Sturridge and Coutinho for the 2nd half of last season. Still..would be interesting to see those stats.

------------Mignolet
Johnson-Sakho-Agger-Enrique
---------Lucas - Gerrard
-------------Coutinho
---Moses-Sturridge-Suarez

Not a bad line up, could swap and change a few players too

Sakho is quality but with the signing of the Portuguese fella I think it's a bit overkill in the backline.

Agger, Sakho, Illori, Skrtel, K Toure and Coates in the centre halves alone... pretty heavy.

Centre Mid is where it looks slim and a bit weak though. Lucas is highly injury prone. Allen isn't really up to it. Might be just me but Gerrard is regressing a bit, watching him against United he was quite ineffective, the game seemed to pass him by. Then you've got Suso out loan.

One boss DM and/or a foil for Coutinho off from being a reasonably balanced squad IMO.

I was expecting Skrtel to be sold, Coates injured for the season (I think) plus Toure is 32 and out with injury atm.

I was also hoping we'd get a good DM or at least another quality CM.

If Lucas or Gerrard go down we are looking pretty weak there.

I was really hoping that the Eriksen deal would eventuate (especially with Agger at the club)......but missing out on Champions League football is costlier than you think. Henderson now becomes one of the most important players in the squad imo.

As for leaving Suarez on the bench, I 1000% disagree. :D

I may get some stick for this.....but I reckon young Coutinho contributed to his injury with a his wee bit of acrobatics. Foul yes, but sometimes making sure the ref gets the point backfires. Lets wish him a speedy recovery. Que Alberto.
