Idiots.

Hoffman had a good game. His mobility on the fringes is very important.

As did Pearce...who do you think put Lewis into most of those holes? His kicking was also first class.

NSW shouldn't change a thing.

We don't need another forward on the bench. We had three and yet stars with engines like Merrin and Fifita still only managed 30 minutes each. Even Gallen only got 50 minutes. Who's minutes is the extra forward going to take away?

I was looking for the minutes played by the forwards last night. It was my argument for keeping Reynolds. I didn't see the point in playing another forward and possibly bringing on someone for the sake of it, who wasn't quite as good as the person they were replacing. Even last night, it would have been hard to determine who needed a rest, cause they all played so well.

We have a damn good team, and I don't see the point in changing a winning one, especially after one match.

He would have scored his usual two-to-four tries, just as he does damn near every week. How many did your boy score, Pete?

PS your impression of a reasonable man needs a better poker face. You know as well as I do you're judging the OP, not his (damn true) words.

Nathan Merrit
Games: 212 Tries: 148

Not sure how that works out at 2-4 tries a match.

LoL.
I'm not a QLD fan.

Pearce needs to do more.

I agree. He was solid, but nothing special. At this point I wouldn't have a problem trying Adam Reynolds as his kicking game is much better than Pearce's. If we could get a few repeat sets and more pinpoint kicking for the ingoal, I think we may have bagged a couple more tries. Both have the same running game, one that is rarely used.

Now post Ferguson's (pitifully inferior) numbers.

http://www.rugbyleagueproject.org/players/nathan-merritt/summary.html

http://www.rugbyleagueproject.org/players/blake-ferguson/summary.html

Ferguson has always had the talent, just getting him focused was the key. Similar to how Merrit broke out years ago, Fergo is doing so this year. Helps his body is so much more suited to Origin than Merrit's is.

Either way, I wasn't the one who was saying that Merrit scores 2-4 tries a match to talk him up when he scores approx 0.66 a try a match compared to Fergo's 0.5 a match. And if you compare them this season, they are on par with each other. (Fergo M8 T7, Merrit M12 T11)

Translation = A career of under-achievement.

He's 23 you genius

I was talking about his career to date, mate.

& don't come at me with his form the last month like the rest of his career doesn't matter.

Ferguson is a textbook example of a guy who will never hold it together long term like Merritt has.
