Morgan can move if they had too. Every team wants to win if there is a guy who is good enough to play 5/8th in a top 4 team. They will find a way

Matt Scott could move too but its better if you have a utility on the bench and leave your superstar halves pairing running the show. Who wants to move their 5/8th to cover an injury on the wing? That's just dumb.

Agree here, everyone saying we SHOULD and ARE a top 4 team, but stacked up against the likes of the Cowboys, Roosters, Storm, Broncos and even Sharks, i think it would take a huge effort to reach the top 4..

Having said that, i'm confident we can nudge it...

Depends on if the Sharks stick with Moylan at 5/8th and if he is good at it too but good points

Hampton can't play wing. In those cases the centre would go to the wing. Morgan has played Origin at centre before is that any dumber than leaving a top half out?

TMM was one half of the halves pairing that went on an awesome late season and finals run all the way to the GF but he isn't FG quality? Is that really what you are saying Franklin? Because im sure you are argued last offseason he should be our starting 6 when I was calling for it to be Moylan. Now after playing in GF he isn't FG standard yet? Lol yeah that really adds up.

We equal everyone excluding Cows/Storm/Sharks. Broncos aren't that great roster wise, only have us beat for coaching. We should be able to get 4th spot with a reasonable year against the last 12 teams at least.

He'd walk into the Tigers that is for sure. How many top 4 sides or teams that want to be though?

From last years top 8 I'd pick out the Sea Eagles. Potentially Melbourne if he was being coached under Bellamy you'd certainly see the best of him and maybe he would edge out Croft. Who knows.

Roosters and Sharks you'd think have settled on their halves.

Won't say Brisbane but this is what Zero Tackle have for 2018...

If he went on the market half the comp would want him.

I said he would walk into the Tigers and few other teams to would mean FG standard but not top 4 standard. I did want that I can also wait 2 years until we see him at his best. You are in the camp of need results now in that case he doesn't fit the bill

So not Roosters? Eels are on par also..

Roosters have a better squad than the Sharks...

haha. No idea who did that team but you'd think Milford and Nikorima would be their 1st choice halves.

That is more my point probably half or maybe more of our fanbase seems to want results now. Others can wait as it seems to be going well the fact we have found only one of the top 8 teams he'd get a start in. Tells me he wasn't right for us

Yes they named a dogshit Broncos team makes them look much worse than they are. Will probably struggle regardless especially if they don't start the year well.

If we had known Moylan was to be released I'm sure they would have kept Martin. Thats not to say it would have been 6.Martin 7.Cleary to start 2018. It was probably the right decision to put some experience in the halves, guess we will find out if Maloney was the right choice.

The squad hasn't been picked yet and if he wasn't NRL quality there is no way Green plays him through a finals series.

We might not have but disrupting the halves so much has to hurt.
Not strictly true. With the injuries they had, they didn't have a lot of choice. He may not be NRL quality (not willing to offer an opinion either way yet) but he may be better than the other options they had in Qld Cup at the time. This idea that he was picked because he was brilliant and we let him go is rubbish. He played because the Cowboys were desperate and just like he did when he played for us, he did an OK job. Did he play well enough that other cubs would sack one of their halves for him? Hmmm. Bearing in mind he was playing in a team with arguably the form half of the entire competition and one that had recently won a grand final. Experienced hooker, 5/8th and fullback it was much easier for him there than at the Panthers.

That's why I said early we had a Brooks/Moses situation. I think Maloney/Cleary is much better.

We have Roosters beat on Foreard pack and partial backline. I'd say everyone bar the Cows/Sharks/Storm we are either equal to or better than.
How are we not better than Sharks?

We have 3/4s of the NSW spine.

Better centres.
Better wingers assuming Holmes is at fullback.

I mean last year our team was not good enough. But now it is. We have half the NSW team.

Exactly. Anything less than top five this season is a bad season imo. There are no excuses left.

Particularly since we have 'gutted' the apparent problem children. Moylan and Cartwright. Peachey next to go.

So Hook has the squad he wants. Brought in experience, the team is a year older etc...allowances given. Lets see some results.

They have the forward pack and we now have the spine and backline so maybe it's more realistic to be equal with them. I put them because they seem to have it over us the last few years.
