I bet if you looked at the stats you will find he dropped the ball no more than teddy .

Drops per catch/bomb or just drops overall?

I though Naquiama was ok at centre, certainly better than Nofu at centre and Nofu was much better than Naquiama at wing...

I think that myself and a lot of the other posters just don't see many other options. We haven't seen Fine play in the top grade so I don't know how well he would go.

To be honest, the only shoe ins in the backline are:

1. Tedesco
2. Nofo
3.
4. Simona

Two spots completely up for grabs and we have a couple of hungry players wanting to prove themselves.

I cant see your hate for him... you have death ridden him all year regardless of him playing good or bad .
I actually thought he was about the only player to improve this year and added something to the side particulary at centre .
Defence is something that can be trained and coached and improved.

* He's not NRL quality
* He did improve throughout the year. He's still not NRL quality
* I did give him credit and praise when it was due. He played to the maximum of his ability.
* I'd prefer a genuine centre over a makeshift one
* Taylor was supposedly focussing entirely on defence this year. Naiqama did not improve. His technique, timing and reads are absolutely abysmal. It's like he was trained by Tim Moltzen.
* Defensive liabilities are easier to accept for a winger, but centres these days are fast moving back rowers, which Kev just ain't. And his size isn't a factor, because Simona has a similar build and is a very capable defender.

If Kev has to be in the starting side, then he has to be on the wing and nowhere else. He is a good finisher.

I really don't know what way Taylor is going to go in 2016 but looking at our roster I think we need to use some of these new guys otherwise it will just be more of the same as what we got this year.

I think Edwards is a solid first grader and is best used for his defence, he is not a power runner but can run into a gap (as with Lawrence). I am more inclinded to go with the two from the Ipswich Jets. Don't know a lot about them but everything seems to suggest they run hard and defend well. They will both have a point to prove and we need impact off the bench, not small pedestrian players.

I tend to agree with MU that Naiqama is a better winger than centre.

I'd go;

1. Tedesco
2. Nofo
3. Fine
4. Simona
5. Naiqama
6. Moses
7. Brooks
8. Woods
9. Farah/Cherrington
10. Sue
11. Sironen
12. Edwards
13. Taupau

14. Ava
15. Griffin
16. McConnachie
17. Lawrence (cover injury to backs)

I just hope that Brooks and Moses both have a big year.....

I'd be surprised if Edwards was used on the edge, guy offers nothing in attack. Unless he is there purely to help out Moses/brooks.

Move Edwards to lock,Tapau to bench, Lawrence to back row, Chee Kam in place of Fine, Hunt in place of Kev, my 2cents

If we are going with Kev on the wing then I'm guessing Kee Cham is going to be used at centre rather than back row.

I really want to see Griffin on the bench. I have a good feeling that he could make the transition to FG as bench impact very well.

Also, what are our thoughts on Robbie playing 80 minutes? If he can play 80 minutes at Origin level then I think he can play 80 minutes at club level consistently

If Robbie plays 80 mins, then at least 20 to 30 of those would be as a back rower in defence protecting Brooks

Cherrington must have game time regularly in 2016

Chee Kam is a back rower first. Leave him there. We just got rid of a slow back, why put another one there?

For mine Simona does the most damage on the wing. He's more likely to get a bit of space on the wing than in the centres when our halves are struggling. We don't really have anyone better to replace him though so I don't think he'll be moving from there.

I completely agree that Simona is a weapon on the wing. I don't know if he's a better winger or centre but either way he is our best centre so we need him there!

I believe that griffin will play at least 15 games of NRL next year, mostly from the bench, and McConnochie is at least as good a player as guerra was before he made the roosters NRL team. Look how good guerra was in origin 3 this year and you see what Billy's upside could be.

I think we might see a few bolters come round 1. Wouldnt surprise to see Watson Heleta/ Jordan Rankin at center and a couple of new faces in the forwards like Tyler Cassell, Dallas Graham and the QLD cup boys.

I'd guess all these guys will get a run in the 7s.

That is a fair wrap Isaiah. I am guessing you have seen them both play more than I have (only their Grand Final) but all I read seems to suggest they go alright. It is a big step up to the NRL but plenty of players have made the step so here is hoping these guys do.

One player I will be watching with interest, although now not with us is Funaki. He has signed with the Broncos and I'll be interested to see how he goes at a club that has their sh#t together. If he happens to break into their top side it will just show how inept our board and management has been the last 18 months with player retention and purchasing.

I think we have a billionaire supporter of the club but the is all. I don't know of any time Harry Triguboff has actually contributed to the club....and I am not saying he has to. I think he, like most supporters on this forum is sick and tired of the performance of the team due to incompetence at management/coaching level.

If we are to be successful that side of thing obviously must change and if the team started to show a return, so to speak, perhaps we may attract third party sponsorship....put it in persective, even supporters on this firum are talking about walking away as members due to the crap we are being dished up so why would Harry throw his hard earned into this team.

I get your point though Benched Tiger, you really have to ask what value/need there is in having a salary cap when rich benefactors can throw money at top line players. I can't for the life of me work out how sides like the Bronco's, Manly, Dogs and Roosters can balance their books.

I often think how I'd react to someone like Triguboff or that rich dude from England if they bought the team lock, stock and barrel.
