He's contributed plenty in sponsorship dollars.

Without him, Balmain and the Wests Tigers would've had more seasons without a major sponsor than the Sharks and the old Gold Coast Seagulls combined

Updated line-up, who I think our strongest/likeliest line up will be for round 1 will be.

1. Tedesco
2. Nofoaluma
3. Rankin
4. Simona
5. Naiqama
6. Moses
7. Brooks
8. Woods
9. Farah
10. Seumanufagai
11. Lawrence
12. Chee-Kam
13. Sironen

14. Sue
15. Griffin
16. Edwards
17. Cherrington

I'd have preferred 3 props on the bench with Cherrington.

Ballin will come in at Lock, so the pressure is on Chee Kam and Sironen imo to perform. And I see Chee Kam winning that.

Sironen really needs to have a break out year, otherwise, we should cut him loose at the end of the season.

Thanks for that Mac and MU. I didn't know what he'd done behind the scenes I just know he isn't in your face like Politis et al.

like most successful businessmen, they are smart....
who would want to be involved with this rabble. If Harry was to be more involved, it'd be a case of either he buys the club and runs it his way 100%, or just chip in from the sidelines.

And given he was a Balmain fan, the Magpies side of the board would never let him buy the club, even though he's committed to the club staying as the Wests Tigers.

And if Wests ever want to walk alone they kiss at least $1 m goodbye just losing him alone . Although Balmain do owe $2m a year just having Harry T there they are at least getting half of it.

The amount of money it would cost HT to buy the team would be small change considering his wealth ( US $4 Billion apparently) , but he is 82 years old so even if he could work out a deal with Wests ( I agree its unlikely) why would he go down the ownership path now?

If the club had of been this big a basket case 10 years ago instead of Premiers it might have happened then..

Isn't it strange how things work out?

What about that other property developer Donald Trump :roll::roll:

Now there's someone who'd stir them up at NRL HQ

All he would do is buy it, set up a business model and put in place people he wants running the club (say one delegate to represent Balmain Tigers and one for Wests Magpies. All the rest will be Wests Tigers only and business people.)

Once he has the business plan in place he only needs to get a GM of football operations in who knows wtf they are doing and let them clean the place up.

It'd take him 2 full seasons to get things how he wants it for a fresh start.

Pretty good lineup MU.

I too think Rankin is an option at right center. The guy reminds me a bit of Austin, has a deadly running and support play game. If he's defenxe is up to it he could make a dangerous center.

At the roosters JT was apparently in charge of their attack. Their back row of SBW, cordner and guerra all played roving roles, not the left edge, right edge, right back rowers that everyone else does. I could see that working with us with Siro playing an SBW style of bobbing up everywhere and offloading through the line.

Chee Kam was the highest rated NYC back rower in the country 3 years ago. This is his last chance at a professional career. He was starting to come good at the back end of the season at manly, their fans were sorry to see him go. Hopefully he can come of age with us.

I'm excited to see what Griffin and Mcconnachie can bring. I'd say they along with Edwards and Dallas Graham are competing for 2 spots.

Griffith and

Im almost over it , the 2015 grandfinalists can buy the best centre on the market while we argue about which reserve grader to play. The game is corrupt and also manipulated by fox and nine in TPP . I love the game unfortunately so ill put myself through another year of BSNRL :( .
Its about time real league supporters start protesting like they do in soccer.

I said this a few days ago, Manly miss the 8 for the first time in 10 years...their response is to buy a team capable of winning the comp the next year. They do not accept mediocrity, why do we?

Frustrating but that is the lot of a Wests Tigers fan.

Because our board and management are a shambles and have been since the merger. Probably even since before the merger - that just put two groups of incompetent dinosaurs together which made things worse. Hopefully Pascoe might bring some professional standards to the place, that's about all we have to hope for.

It's partly bad management, partly poor systems which allow richer clubs to exploit the TPA. The NRL allowing Souths to register Burgess for $500kpa is a complete farce. 12 months ago the guy was named the best rugby league player in the world, now he is allowed to play for less then half of what the top guys are earning.

They may as well have no salary cap the way it is ATM.

Nice lineup, couple of questions:
- Why Sironen at lock? Would we be going back to the ball playing lock or would we try and train him as a battering ram? If the former, does his rotation also come on as a ball playing lock? If so who would move there? I had thought that Farah could move to ball playing lock when Cherrington comes on so that Farah stays on the field for 80.
- Not Halutau over Chee Kam? I agree Kee Cham look promising but wouldn't you rather Halutau in that spot?
- Can Rankin cut it in the centres? Naiqama and Nofa played together most of last year and we would have to essentially start again with the right edge combo. Rankin at right centre really feels like a temporary patch up fix

Sironen at Lock because I don't think he's the sort of player we want on the field for 80 mins. Cherrington comes on, Farah to Lock, Cherrington to hooker.

Chee Kam will only get better with game time. he has a good step and offload and he runs good lines.

Halatau just tackles a bit.

Rankin has played his entire career as a fullback or as a half. He has speed and he has a great passing game. Two things essential to being an attacking centre. Both Nofoaluma and Naiqama only have the speed part, they are also very good finishers and have looked horrible at centre. I don't really agree that Nofoaluma and Naiqama had any semblance of a combination, but Rankin will form a combination pretty quick with both Nofoaluma and Tedesco on the inside.

To me it makes sense to switch Rankin to centre.

It's an absolute joke isn't it!!! But like you said we will put ourselves through another year because we love the game. Imagine the sponsorship dollars we could attract if we got every Friday night game on free to air!!!

So Souths sign Sam Burgess and likely James Roberts

Canterbury sign Will Hopoate (not that i wanted him)

Manly sign like 4 internationals

Brisbane likely signing Teo and whispers of GI

We came 15th and sign Joel Edwards and Michael Chee Kam....

This shit needs to be sorted. Its not fair on the fans, we are entering the 5th year of a 'rebuilding cycle' and the end seems further away than ever. Everyone else has 1-2 year max. Completely over it.

It's a joke, the strong teams get stronger and we just get weaker.
