And again. Its nothing to do with Farah or the coach.

Even if Farah is on a million, we should still be nowhere near our cap limit.

It's like the fish are biting and everyone is trying to catch them while we are at the campfire reading a book. It's depressing.

It's going to be hard enough for us to retain the few decent players we have like teddy for example let alone sign a top-draw 1st grader over the next few yrs.

It certainly sucks & it's no coincidence that teams that r consistently in the finals r where the quality players off contract end up signing with while we continue to attract the has - beens & the dregs.

2016 will certainly be another long season for us & all we can hope is that the lovetts & moses's of our squad continue to improve & bludgers like Siro who has been shithouse starts to earn his keep. Also & more importantly Brooks has got to start realising his potential coz he has been massively disappointing in every facet of an organisers game.Unless he improves dramatically I wouldn't be resigning this dud.

End of the day id hate to support a shallow club that attempts to buy a comp each year , I would however like to feel we are at least able to keep the talent we develop and perhaps a special marquee player occasionally to fill a void and help provide some confidence for the fans. Instead every year we wait nervously while the vultures circle our best players off AND ON contract . You can really understand why we have stupid back ended contracts and pay overs for rookies when the money clubs apply pressure :(
Its no coincidence that when Queensland ratings dropped when the Broncos were losing TPP's came into play and money to buy the games best coach .. hmmm WT rate on TV win lose or draw , maybe we should stop watching so the media and sponsors will prop us up for a while?

In our current state it's hard to see any quality player being overly interested in coming to the WT,a new coach may have some bearing on that issue, along with the cash offered, however since our board is controlled by NRL it virtually means our club cant do anything questionable or under handed in securing players, simply put our board has to get smarter with the dealings of contracts and tpa and also attempt to build a better culture at the club that attracts players interest.

I think a coach that players want to play for is key.

Sheens was looking for huge coin and getting it. That shows his motivation
Potter came here as a coach who had previously coached a superleague side for no salary. That shows his focus was on the field.
Taylor reportedly has a personality that is not appreciated by a lot of players. If players know that, they will avoid the club too.

Brown, Griffin and Folkes are all respected by players, have had success especially with local juniors and are motivated by on field success.

Just look at the players Brown and Griffin have acquired compared to Taylor.

Speaks volumes

I think you have hit the nail on the head concerning our coaching situation, mention coaching and JT's name in the same context and people just start laughing.

Fox sports had a show about tigers next year. Ins and outs did not include mcconnochie and Griffin then Braith or someone named their 17 without either. No idea. Why is the qld cup still so underrated?

We r in such a desperate position with our poor depth & inexperience with our forwards that if mconnochie or griffin don't swiftly make a successful transition to nrl we r f**ked.

Another major variable re our level of competitiveness in '16 will be whether dopey Taylor has the same level of luck with injuries that we had in '15. Then again a big reason for the reduction in serious injuries in '15 was the unforgivable lack of effort particularly by a number of our forwards & the refusal of our over-rated & tackle shy no.7 to run the ball.

Because it's in QLD (not being a smart arse either)

I see we have lost Hoeter for next year. I thought he was one of the players we were likely to use in the top side. Don't know why they would have let him go, he couldn't be costing much.

I don't mind losing him. We picked up a faster version of him in Addo Carr.

Hey MU, what are the chances of Addo-Carr playing top grade. A mate of mine who is a Sharkies supporter loved watching Addo-Carr play. He reckons he could be our next Larry Corowa!!!

I know he has speed to burn but how do you (and others) rate his chances?

Can't be that great if he signed with the townsville black hawks.

Read on the official forum he is the front runner for the vacant wing position. Apparently he is very strong under the high ball and the quickest in the club

I hope that this kid is good. We are desperate for some more speed out wide.

Thanks Super Coach. For some reason I tend not to read the official forum. I should drop in there more often.

Good to hear about Addo-Carr though....

Apparently he's impressing at training. He used to have handling lapses fielding kicks, but apparently he's sorted those out now.

I can't see Naiqama keeping him out of the side. The kid is f**king fast. The issue we have is no centre who can pass reliably on his side of the field.
