MY TEAM: THE MIGHTY BLUES
I would like to see the Blues win back the origin trophy!

Paul Gallen is great. He is my favourite. Keep training hard, more push ups; more tries!
Hoping that Josh Morris will recover before next season and Laurie Dally pushes the team harder so they can fight back and my team, the Mighty Blues will again be the origin heroes!!

You sir need to lay off the pipe. I know it can be fun, but you will never catch that dragon.

How does Hunt go as a kicker? Moses is a bloody good goal kicker and probably would have been kicker last year had Richards been in reggies where he belonged.

Taylor said at the fan day Moses won't be goal kicker due to some issues with his leg. Said Hunt is the best goal kicker in the team and Rankin can also kick.

I think that is basically the team that will be picked with only two bench spots up for grabs of course barring injuries in the next week.
Also I think Rankin is a special for the wing based on his goal kicking alone

We'll pretty much know after Saturday's game. Taylor will name a side as close to round 1 as possible. Seems left wing and a few bench spots are open (probably 3 with Ava the other one). Expecting Cherrington to get a bench spot, especially with Halatau suspended. Also think Aloiai has an edge over Chee Kam for a spot. He can play middle or edge which I think Taylor will go for. I saw Edwards training freely in the Twitter pics this morning, I think the last bench spot is between him, Griffin, Buchanan (sigh) and Graham or even Felisse.

I hope I'm wrong coz we must go in a different direction as its essential that we find more competent backrow options as its our Achilles heel but Lovett will be picked on bench for round 1.

shit id forgotten all about him....says a lot really. you could be right. lawrence and sironen will only play a bit on saturday night and i doubt taylor will have them play 80mins in round 1 both coming off injuries. specialist back rower might be on the bench. hopefully its aloiai/chee kam insted of lovett.

I will be disappointed if Chee am is not in the 17, he is a classy footballer, heavens knows how we managed to lure him to tiger town

I know loyalty and contracts don't mean much today but on the Nine News tonight both Brooks and Moses were interviewed. Brooks said he will do what is best for him and Moses wasn't much different. Both pretty much used the words "I" and "me", there was no mention of the club and what the club have done for them in the past. I guess I expected to hear something along the line of the club has taken a punt on me as a junior and I owe them....no, nothing like that.

I guess I must be a bit naive to expect anything different. We may lose one or both of them but if they are like every first grader to play the game they will play like demons this year to increase their value and we'll pay a sh#t load for their future contracts.

Oh well, that is rugby league......

during the Nines, the guys on Triple M were discussing the year ahead and all agreed that no team can afford to carry a backup hooker on the bench because of the new replacement rules.

We know Farah can play 80 minutes so you'd assume that if Taylor is thinking the same re 80 minute players, they might just take their chances and not play a backup 9 until Halatau is back from suspension.

Interesting 1st few rounds selections coming up as there is one job on the line.

There is no reason why specialist hookers cant / shouldnt develop the skillset to be considered for selection as a backrower in their own right for either the interchange bench or starting spot. Their versatility to either cover hooker or backrow then is a wi,win for everyone.

The other option is that they become Craig Wing type utilities that can fill in at half or in the backline in case of injuries

well I got that wrong  Apparently he's too small to handle an 80 minute game

THEY may have mended their working relationship, but Wests Tigers star Robbie Farah still won’t play 80 minutes under coach Jason Taylor this NRL season.

A reduction in interchange is likely to make coaches reconsider carrying a second hooker on their bench in 2016, but not Taylor, who is adamant the days of the 80-minute hookers are close to an end.

I seriously don't understand Taylor's logic. Yes the 80 min hooker is dying out...BECAUSE THERE ARE HARDLY ANY WHO CAN DO IT.

Robbie is probably the fittest player in the game. Can you remember any game where he started getting tired 65 mins in? No, he's a f**king beast.

Really annoys me we aren't using Robbie to his full potential

I gotta agree - Despite whether Robbie can or cannot play the full 80....Not using Cherrington risks us losing him. Keeping Cherrington must be a priority!
