Seriously, it doesn't matter.

Stone doesn't even talk tough, how do you expect him to make a tough decision.

Dropping Gidley, there is more chance of Joey playing than that happening.

It is funny though...

Under Brian Smith, all any of us wanted was consistency in the team selection (particularly the halves).

Now that we have it, all we want to do is some variation....

I think dropping Ty to NSW Cup won't really achieve much because he's an average player.
Dropping Mullen however could be a master stroke because he could come back the next week and get MOTM.

You won't get that positive effect from dropping Ty. I'd drop Mullen this week and leave him in NSW Cup until he has a blinder and closes a game.

I hate to see Gidley in the halves as much as anyone but this week i think that's where he is best suited - it allows the Gagai-to-fullback saga to begin and allows Sione to have a crack in 1sts in his preferred position.

Ideally I'd drop Gidley too, but a) it wont happen and b) i'm not confident we have any adequate 5/8 replacements... One could argue Gidley to bench and Randall to 5/8 - I wouldn't complain about that.

Stockwell promoted to the starting side due to his consistently good form. He is very deserving of the number 10 jersey, I also think Korbin would be very damaging on the fringes.

PS i also think dropping mullen ahead of dropping roberts is a much more profound statement to the players.
It says "no one is untouchable.....other than gids".

Dropping Mullen is pointless statement wise if Gidley (and Houston) is still selected. He's been the one coming up with the same dumb mistakes over and over again for much longer than the halves have been out of form.

If we had Rochow and BScott fit, that would really help...

I was very impressed with Gagai last week and I think we need to get more spark in attack and Gagai will aid in that getting the ball more all over the park. He can set up his winger quite well as well.

Sione is a strong defensive option next to Uate. I would also really like to see JLeilua play in the forwards so he can get more ball and try to be a hole running forward.

Gidley will play, so have to put him somewhere. Some games where he does nothing but pass early and tackle, he does very well in the 7. Just be the person who gives Mullen the ball one wide.

As I said; there's no way stone will drop captain kurt.
And Houston, we basically need him there atm for the balance of the team. Im not sure if we have any forwards currently available who get through the same amount of work (esp in D) as Chris.
It's no good replacing houston with vaivai or matora. The only viable option for houston is Newton who has been playing good footy. I wouldn't dare even insinuate that I believe he should be promoted to FG around these parts

Then dropping Mullen as a statement is totally useless. You cant drop one bloke for under performing but leave others who have been worse longer (Gidley/Houston) or worse currently (Roberts) in the side.

As I said, Mullen would benefit from being dropped. He's capable of bouncing back and being a major contributor to sealing us a spot in the top 8.

Gidley is shit, always will be - he's past it.

Houston is shit, always will be.

Mullen can play good football he just needs to be sent the message that he needs to get more involved and not be a f**king mental midget.

That's an attitude thing that can be fixed by a boot up the arse. Roberts is more involved than mullen atm, though roberts is just an average footballer.

Lol the AAP article said something like "surprisingly Rick Stone has made no changes to his team that have lost three in a row leading into the cowboys game". Don't know who's surprised...
