Here we go again, just f**k off
What?

He’s calling people in here stupid, I’d like to find out why..

Majority of the discussion has been fruitful & working out if Lomax is good or not.

If you’re not keen to join in the discussion, that’s fine..

But watch your language.

Thurston’s high miss tackle count it wasn’t that he was a bad defender he was actually putting that much effort into getting pressuring attackers that he’d be put down as a miss, in short stats don’t tell the full story.

Indeed they don’t tell the full story, but they provide good indications..

For me I expect a junior to have a high error rate..

Becoming a complete player takes experience..

If he was 28 and was still topping the errors for the club, then I’d be worried..

No they don’t, but I actually think he was a poor defender; He was turnstiles in some Origin games and NSW used to target him often. Never understood how this part of his game was ignored by commentators; maybe cause their all ex players that played with him.

I’d always have Johns way ahead of Thurston in any immortal talk. Have to be a complete allrounder to be an immortal in my opinion.

You seem to get a chubby mentioning Lomax and his errors. Not the first time you have brought this topic up either. You and G girl seem to bounce off each other...

Yep I’d have Cronk in calculations for immortal before Thurston..

Cronk may not have been as flashy, but his defence and overall game management was something else..

That trysaver with a broken shoulder in the grand final was next level..

And he’s the only guy I can think of in recent memory to have three premiership rings with consecutive years on them..

I’ve quoted his stats from this year and also said he’ll be a good player.

Which of those do you disagree with?

Marvellous that he is “quoting” stats which you, me and others know that unless you analyse them and understand them they hold no relevance to the conversation.

As in his opinion there is no analysis going on why would anyone let alone him throw stats into the conversation?

Why don’t you break down his error stats and go from there?? Remove the numbers where he is attacking a bomb/kick near the opposition tryline and see what that number is.

Still asking bro.. Who’s analysis are you saying is stupid?

I’ve merely quoted the stats from fox sports..

Other people are analysing them..

It’s been quite a fruitful discussion in here, why are you making it personal?

@Old Timer is this the type of analysis you’re describing as bone headed?

@redv13 I’m simply quoting the fact that he is our top point scorer and top error maker. Both are listed on fox sports. If you disagree with them, that’s not for me to fix. But you may notice no other top point scorers find themselves at the top of their teams error lists.

As said, he’s young.

Kids make errors when they find their way into first grade.

This is exactly my point, I wasn’t implying that Thurston was a bad defender, and I don’t agree with comments about him being overrated as he delivered on the highest stages on many occasions but imo what made him, Cronk, Johns and a lot of the others special was they had a inbuilt competitiveness, Thurston attempted tackles with extra effort that others wouldn’t, similarly Lomax definitely has a competitiveness about him, his extra efforts, are in areas others don’t even attempt and if they don’t come off they’re seen as errors, which they’re definitely not

I’m not disagreeing with the numbers provided. All I said was minus the numbers where he is attacking bombs/kicks when attempting to score a try and you will see a much lower number. No Saints supporter would give a rats arse if he made for example 10 errors attempting to catch bombs for a try over the season.

But if you’re trying to remove figures to make the overall figures look more positive, you’re disagreeing with the figures.

And would you be as forgiving of 10 bombed try opportunities if he scored 0 tries all season?

No I’m not disagreeing with the numbers. My point is numbers/stats can be misleading and not always a true indication. I’d live with Lomax and his 27 errors when you look at his efforts each week. Hunt with 21 and more often than not does not give a crap. I’ll take Zac’s effort and passion any time

Interesting. So you agree with my stats and my opinion that Lomax is going to do well.

So why are you carrying on like a twat & ruining a perfectly good thread?
