Benji should not be in the halves. He can play centre but his defence is rubbish.

Could play fullback, but would need a bit of time to learn the role.

I'd rather Carney at 6 than Marshall.

The Gasnier equation. $2.67 and a pie.

Story is wrong anyway. Minimum wage is $85,000 these days.

$85,000 for a full season.

7 games in to a 26 round season has about 70% of the season remaining.

70% of $85,000 is just over $62,000.

That's all you have to pay for this year.

If he is after big money then pass.

However if he actually wants a second chance in league and willing to play for the smaller amounts rumored then go for it. If he has any heart all these negative comments about his form and no one wanting him should fire him up. It's Benji Mashall FFS the same guy the whole NRL world was faping over between 05 and 12. If he can reproduce even half that form he will be worth it.

He can play.
Has big game experience.
He will not be missing during SOO ( not that any of our blokes deserve to be playing SOO )
He can score points.
He'd be cheap - how munch did we pay for tim smith mid year?
The more I think about it I'd try Robbo at hooker and him and carney in the halves.
What have we got to lose?
We need robbo on the field.
It is not like he is a revelation at 7 - he is just a great safe footy player that can defend and score from close range.

Hahahaha how ironic that the one Super League club that wants him is Salford.

Connect the dots........................
Get a good pay from them this year, work out a deal for next year.
Who is working for them for this year only?
Or maybe the Salford fella who is negotiating may be the same fella who is back here next year?
Connect the dots......................

Superleague has a rule along the lines that any player signed from a Rugby Union club is not included in the salary cap for their first year.

Thats why Salford's owner Koukash put in a huge bid for him. Benji should've taken that offer.

Could Benj's contract be done in a way that he is on $60k this year, plus a%%% of any sponsers he can bring on ie 3rd party type deals.

That would ensure both the club and Benji wins, and more games we win possibly more sponsors and more $$$ for both

I'd play him in the halves...I like the idea of the opposition defence being split on who to mark up on if we play half a side...very difficult to defend against if the runners get their shit together.

Haha, and you know...having a huge defensive liability on both sides of the field mean they won't know which one to target either...
