Well played Australia in this match, the fast bowlers matched SA and then Khawaja scored a great match defining century. Fine effort from du Plessis, Cook and Abbott was fantastic.

Australia.
Maddinson got a beauty so very difficult to judge.
Handsome Pete got a fifty and caught well.
Renshaw was shit, apparently.
Of the 3 he looked the most capable of long term success.

Khawaja and Hazelgood were great for Australia.

There was so much pressure on the side and most of them delivered. can't ask more than that.

Still a little concerned about 6 and 7 and wade as a keeper but promising.
Wade is f**king hopeless, not clear what Maddison offers

But the Jaapies had it sewn up regardless of pressure on Australia there was nothing on this for the Jaapies

I agree and disagree.

Guys like Abbott won't take any test for granted. they were also fired up after faf got hit by the ball tampering charge.

But the pressure the Australia team was under was crazy. we haven't been whitewashed in Australia in 100 years. there is a test match tradition here that nz doesn't have.

True.

But it's forced some changes on - mostly positive - Australia. Let's hope they build on it.

Pakistan will be tough too.

At least we can see some talent and a future unlike picking PROVEN duds like Smarsh

Although to his credit he batted well in the first innings at Perth, this constant jumping in and out of the side over the past few years disrupts continuity and the ability for the side to consistently play the same test XI. At 33 (hard to believe he's been around for a decade and a half on the Sheffield Shield scene, making his state debut only one season after Michael Clarke), Shaun Marsh has had enough chances and sustained too many injuries. Time to move forward.

Mitchell Marsh, funnily enough, has played the same number of test matches (19) as his brother, even though he debuted only a couple of years ago. Time for the selectors to ditch the fixation on picking an all-rounder at #6, which they've had since the 2005 Ashes loss. Mitch is NOT an all-rounder; neither his batting nor bowling performances have warranted him to be selected as an all-rounder, let alone as either a batsman or bowler.

It's clear as the light of day that both of them have been selected solely off the back of the 'Marsh' name, and hopefully this 'restructuring' of the test team in this Adelaide match signifies a change in direction from the selectors.
