In regards to Rava and Lomax both being right side players. It is more natural for right handers, which is the majority, to pass the ball from left to right. So if Rava and Lomax are both right handed, left centre would probably be their natural position. I had never thought about it before, as when I was growing up, we had inside and outside centre, but I would rather play left centre than right. I would probably get better ball distribution from my halves at centre and it would be more natural passing to my winger. In saying that Lomax does have a very good right hand flick pass, some call it the Gidley Flick. So he would probably be better suited to the right than Rava.Ravalawa and Lomax are both right side players and Lafai still has one more year to run on his contract. So far I have not heard of Lafai moving on for 2020 however, Maybe the back five could be:
1. Lomax
2. Pearson
3. Ravalawa
4. Lafai or Masters
5. Saab
Now IF we can sign the Turbo brothers then:
1. T Turbo - expensive, Kangaroo and SOO quality Rep with size and speed - 1m
2. Saab - low cost, Junior Australian Rep with size and speed - 200k
3. Lomax - low cost, Junior Australian Rep with size and speed - 250k
4. Pearson - low cost, International player with size and speed - 200k
5. Ravalawa - low cost, International player with size and speed 200k
A 2.05m backline with size and speed and a big upgrade on what we have now. This backline has the potential to be very competitive in 2020.
I can assure you that there has been no sarcasm from me on this thread. lolThis thread is comedy, I'm unsure how much of it is sarcasm and what are real statements. Possm and Frank have got to be having a laugh right?
Is that sarcasm?I can assure you that there has been no sarcasm from me on this thread. lol
No. lol and that wasn't sarcasm either. lolIs that sarcasm?
yeh...so was IWhen I said that I would have done all that I could, that was if I was in position such as Millward, to sign the Turbo brothers.
I know..what is disgraceful is even with the knowledge of JDB siuation the only replacement we come up with is a Melbourne reserve grader.
other clubs Souths, Melbourne are swapping 1st graders and we get this.
Frank - have you given any thought to resurrecting Clive Churchill?
We’d be unstoppable with the undead..
Yes for sure I stop and think that Manly will move heaven and earth to keep them. I think there is a 90% chance Manly will keep the Turbo brothers. We have very little chance of signing them especially if we still have Mary.Possm...do you ever stop and think that they probably want to stay at Manly who will move heaven and earth and afford to keep them and offer them their MV. Why would they even contemplate coming to the Dragons. Even with new coaching staff, recruitment officee, CEO and plenty of TPA's. It wont happen they will be at Manly until they retire or Manly no longer exist.
Makes you think though Manly would have to have 3 x $1 million players on their books where most clubs have just or close to 2.
A left to right pass is more suited to be a right centre to a right winger. A left centre would pass left to his winger. In regards to Rava and Lomax both being right side players. Possm- if they’re a 90% chance of staying then you’re giving them a 10% chance of moving, which provides us all with hope.Yes for sure I stop think that Manly will move heaven and earth to keep them. I think there is a 90% chance they will keep them especially if we still have Mary.
Positive factors in moving to SGI:Possm- if they’re a 90% chance of staying then you’re giving them a 10% chance of moving, which provides us all with hope.
What are the contributing factors to that potential shift and how could we improve that percentage to say 12%, or even 15%?
Yes, but these would already be factors in the 90%/10% split, would they not?Positive factors in moving to SGI:
We can afford to sign them at 2m package deal.
We do have a vacant first grade spot open for them.
If we have a new coaching staff, that will substract one big negative.
Negative factors in moving to SGI:
Their obvious preference to stay at Manly0
Our current coaching staff.
Maybe the availability of good TPA.
The Manly coaching staff and team mates.
