Was it 8 or 9 juniors in the 2003. The club's biggest strengths is the junior development program and pathways. (ehanced with structures put in by Gould)
It's the envy of many others within the NRL.
Around 50% is fine, but Gus has this wild idea of 80% debuting with the club. I just don’t think that number is possible if you want to win premierships.
The problem is the more juniors in the team the more guesswork is involved. It’s hard to know if a youngster, no matter how talented, will truly kick on. But when you buy a current first grader you’re typically getting a very known quantity.
So juniors are great, but we shouldn’t go overboard on them.
