Here's a fun story. Two old creepy judges groom a young chick called Susanna

Susanna is the subject of an attempted rape by two elders, who spy on her while she’s bathing before conspiring to coerce her into sex:

Look the garden doors are shut, and no one can see us. We are burning with desire for you; so give your consent, and lie with us. If you refuse, we will testify against you that a young man was with you, and this was why you sent your maids away.

Then the two elders stood up before the people and laid their hands on her head. 35 Through her tears she looked up toward Heaven, for her heart trusted in the Lord. 36 The elders said, “While we were walking in the garden alone, this woman came in with two maids, shut the garden doors, and dismissed the maids. 37 Then a young man, who was hiding there, came to her and lay with her. 38 We were in a corner of the garden, and when we saw this wickedness we ran to them. 39 Although we saw them embracing, we could not hold the man, because he was stronger than we, and he opened the doors and got away. 40 We did, however, seize this woman and asked who the young man was, 41 but she would not tell us. These things we testify.”

Because they were elders of the people and judges, the assembly believed them and condemned her to death.

Since you wouldn't hire him and if say you ran/managed the overall business that he is requesting to join and that business would take a massive hit from sponsors, fans and the media that love to stick it to your organization, which would affect the perception and overall bottom line, what would you do?

If you allowed such a goose to be part of your family of clubs, what does that say about you and your values? Can your organization afford to lose even more sponsors, fans and again be judged rightly or wrongly as a bunch of bonehead throwbacks when it is a struggle of gargantuan proportions to gain and hold on to each dollar, fan and participant in an ever increasing competitive market place?

Falau has the right to believe and say what he wants as long as he stays within the constraints of the laws that we must all adhere to, but it is also the right of any private organization to defend its market share and decide who should represent them and their values. That is why we have job interviews. He decided to have his interview, more then once, in the public domain for everyone to judge, which has force the hand of any future employer.

Falau to many thousands has sealed his own fate on this one.

Quite an eloquent post, Rammy. You been to night school or something?

In response to your question regarding what I would do if determining the NRL's position on this. I'd allow clubs to negotiate with the bloke and, if it ever came to it, to present a proposal to the NRL including whatever safeguards and provisions they think necessary (e.g. salary in escrow etc) and assess that on its merits.

has BA added anyone new to the staff in the last 2 years?
I would have brought in the Storm offense coordinator.
You need new ideas every year.

It's the kind of story you'd probably not write if you were trying to promote your religion, not highlight it. Anyway as the story continues, Daniel basically becomes her lawyer, calls out the false witnesses and condemns the corrupt judges for bearing false witness and Susan lives which I'm guessing is the lesson in this story.

Well luckily for both club and the ARLC it is a moot point now. But if the club had continued on and did what you suggested, I hope the ARLC would have vetoed the signing so as to safeguard its own interests. The NRL lives and dies on sentiment and opinion to a large degree for much of its revenue streams and success to attract core and value adding partners at all levels. They don't need to invite bad headlines that they can themselves prevent by making what should be a very simply decision that many people and most of the media would support without much backlash at all.

By vetoing his application the headlines would be mostly supportive and the story would blow away relatively quickly. But if the ARLC were to allow him to play then it would be a daily, bash fest that would never relent. Why would anyone charged with the fiduciary duty to promote and advance the code ever make such a simple business decision blunder when it is so simple to just say no?

They would be in their rights to dismiss his request. Let the politicians deal with politics and sports organisations deal with running their sports the way they see fit.

If all these religions stuck to their books, 99% of us would all be burt alive or stoned to death.
The books are largely irrelevant. People are either born into religion or choose it based on their conscience. They disregard the book wherever it doesn't suit them. The people who focus on the books are the ones who don't understand human beings. Essentially just academics and other nerds, including most atheists by the looks of things.

Tell that to the people that kill in the name of their book and the millions who don't read or care about the "details" in those books who simply ignore or go along with the destructive side of religion simply to avoid a target on their backs.

The details in the books matters to many millions if not billions. To say they don't is do deny the reality of documented history.

Another classic statement from you Pou. You never cease to amuse.
