I'm at work here in Perth, so had the game on my phone going while doing paperwork. Turned it off 24-nil down 15mins to go. Kept the NRL.com live updates happening on my computer. When it got to 1min to go, I turned the game back on just to hear the boos.

I hate that this is what I've been wanting to hear for a few weeks now. Absolutely hate it. But it totally needed to happen.

And I'll freakin' well do it myself in a few weeks when we play the Dolphins over here if they keep this shit up.

I don’t think the crowd (or us) WANT’S to boo, but this is a way to get the message to the team that these performances are just not good enough.

One thing people really REALLY need to let go of is the competing on attacking kicks.

It's not an AOB thing, it's a very common tactic across the league.

This doubly applies if you work at Fox Sports.

Warren Smith gives me an aneurysm most weeks.

This is the least of my issues with AOB and our tactics.

Not that I don’t hate it, but there’s a lot of other issues.

This is true, but no one is as slavishly devoted to it as AOB.

Also, if you can't f**king score adding more randomness into the contest might be a good thing?
Yeah just because it's a common tactic now doesn't mean it's always correct. We should be looking to do anything that gives us a chance to score, and sometimes that means having a crack at a kick and hoping it ping-pongs around and lands in the arms of an open man. Plenty of teams score tries this way.

I'm also not convinced it's the best option anyway. I understand the logic of hitting the catcher, setting your line etc but the downside of contesting kicks seems fairly low.

No doubt that with a team as bad as ours we need to just aim for more variance but what I can't stand is everyone in here thinking every problem is an AOB thing.

The contesting bombs thing is a league trend and there's been a good write up about it too. It's not AOB.

I get people are frustrated but the way it's twisted in here that anything negative we do is AOB and anything positive (is there anything) is anyone else.

People are calling for our assistants, including Blake Green who is in charge of our historically bad attack, to take over. It's garbage.

If you want him out, fine, I get it. But becoming completely brain dead and blaming everything on him only makes the poster look like an idiot.

I think Lucas hurt himself trying to stop Lomax's first try and I think Sharpe got hit by one of our own guys trying to stop the last Parra try?

Ponga off to Origin. Maybe JSaf joining him. Sharpe and Lucas and Best all gone. It's gonna be dire.

Looks like the footy gods won't allow Cogger to rest for more than a week!

Totally agree.

The whole place is arse.

Newcastle, Gold Coast and the Wollongong Dargons spots in the NRL will be under pressure when the licenses next come up.
East Coast regional clubs definitely in the gun IMO.

They don’t cut the mustard.

There is zero chance the Newcastle license goes anywhere. We get 15000 turn up for an under performing team. They're not going to piss in the face of that.

This is a good take. AOB isn’t the cause of all of our problems. He’s probably not the solution to them at this point but people blaming him for everyone that goes wrong and giving him no credit for anything good that happens is a knee-jerk reaction.
