So now you support people not going through the turnstyles and supporting the team?

If they do it in a constructive way. Actually turn up to the venue but don't go inside. I think that would be better than what people are suggesting. As it would be an actual protest instead of what I would call fans sitting on their arse at home and deluding themselves into believing it is some sort of noble protest.

Fish , we agree for once, yes we have to understand that there are a lot of fans that pick and choose, and they need to be satisfied that there is "real effort" from the side.

I think Hindy's response after the game indicated how he felt, and again Finchy was the one doing the talking behind the line. We need his passion infused into those that have the skills to get us going.

There was a phrase that if you say "go forward" few will follow, if you say " follow me" then that is the start. Remember the reserve grade t-shirts of 18 months ago, COME WITH ME, that was a sign that if you want to win, then come with me, where the friggin hell is that attitude. The coach exhibits none of it, as someone said to me last night, Hagan's heart is in Newcastle, he took the job with us for the money and he showed more emotion in the box when at Newie, he shows none with us.

I stopped going to see Jimmy Barnes when he got too far into the booze-the voice just wasn't cutting it and even though I could close my eyes and imagine I was back in 1981 it just wasn't the same.
But I never stopped listening to my Cold Chisel and Barnesy CD's and always listed him as one of my favourite performers.

Now he is off the booze I am back watching his shows.

I am a big Barnesy fan as I am a big Parra fan.

I loved those t-shirts.

Oh mate, how many times do you have to hear it before it gets through that f**king thick concrete skull of yours.
It's not because they are not winning, it's because they are not putting the f**king effort in, and their tactics are sh*te, and we keep making crap recruitment decisions etc etc etc......... The disappointment in results and responsibility is being expressed from top to bottom.

A million times, people have said that they'd be happy to see effort regardless of results.

If you want to pick and choose your agenda, so be it.

Get over yourself, honestly.

Is that what the 22 X 22 years meant?

I advised Fishy to not waste his time yesterday.
I think I'll take my own advice.

At least there are others on this board who have ties with this club who aren't afraid to tell it how it is.

Parramatta are the Most Fickle fan base in the NRL. Bar none. Not turning up to a game, instead sitting at home because we aren't going well or the effort isn't in the play according to you, is fickle.

I will tell you this much, we can not attract new fans for our Fickle one. I have heard so many stories over the year of football fans who have lost their team, they live in the Parramatta or Penrith districts and if they wanted to continue to follow the sport. They decided to choose one of the team at the Double header. I was told that and I have seen this for a fact, that Parramatta fans just expect to win, and expect everyone to lay down for them. I have seen the same on here. If they don't win or don't get a good call, they are abusive and aggressive.

There was an NRL report that I was informed about a few years ago from a source I had at another club. It reveled when Certain clubs are going well, you can expect many kinds of increases in leagues key indicators (Attendance , merchandise sales,TV ratings). The report indicated that Parramatta as one of those clubs, as the largest "Latent" supporter base in the country.

I was in Queensland, for the Brisbane game. The above appears true when you go up that way. I would guess it would have been a 45 - 55% split between Eels and Broncos fans at that game. They only get one game to turn up to, and they go in Droves. But with the glut of games, and our TV coverage, the fickle supporter base, even if they have the means in terms of time, money, and transport. Stay at home.

Well how much dumber does that make our administration then. Armed with that type of knowledge they should be bending over backwards to make sure that they get it right. Otherwise there is hell to pay revenue wise and all the knock on affects.

Also they should be pulling out all stops to seduce and wow us, so as we can never think of leaving them even when the team is floundering. But do they?

No they go the other way and give us nothing but a sour taste in our mouths like maybe you would have after sleeping with a German porno star who treats you like a human toilet.

This just tells me that "most" Parramatta supporters are just a notch above the average bear, and we will only play ball when they also decide to play ball.

Hey life is to short, but this is not to say that I will ever stop loving the Blue and Golds.

I bet they wouldn't. Narrow losses albeit putting in and digging deep would hardly satisfy Ram, Tekken Lord & Co.

(To paraphrase and correct me if I'm wrong) A loss is a loss and they demand results. No point in settling for mediocrity.

The results they are after is a premiership. If you comb through their posts they don't even consider that we had a good year last year - even though we got beat in the game before the GF by the eventual winners.

I think in this instance MITS was jsut responding directly to Rams' post #127, which was all about the fact we have not won a premiership in that time?

Anyway that aside, most of us do want to and pay to see effort for 80 mins, and are not that worried if we lose the close games having done (almost enough) to win. The Premierships are the icing on the cake when that sort of effort is there for several years in a row, and a club starts to thrive and build a culture.

But we have not seen first grade standard effort for the past three matches - Melbourne U20s (even though we won), Penrith and Souths.... Week to week effort is the concern, premierships can wait until we can string more than two wins in a row together - Souths have done it, Saints have done it (until last week), why can't we?

I walked past Merrylands Rams playing yesterday arvo, and I both heard and saw more evidence of team work than I do in Eels first grade as soon as the opposition get any sort of roll on. That's all we want the first graders to show, consistently and almost week in week out, not just four times in a season when the planets are aligned the right way.

Blah blah blah, Here is the question. Will you be turning up on Friday night next, regardless of Friday this coming nights results?
