Elliott never ceases to amaze with his selections. Do we want Wade Graham to play with confidence or what? He was doing a great job towards the end of last season. He went well in the trials, so Elliott drops him for round 1. Fair dinkum.

I might get shot down here but i like the idea of peanuts being on the bench

Waterhouse is a good second rower

i don't agree with Elliott and selecting Lewis at 5/8 graham should be there as its his spot

Smith must of stayed over at Elliott's place on the weekend to get the start

Exactly why he may be on the bench! If his confidence is low go back 2 20's tear it up and come back. Can anyone really say he carved up in the trials?? The 2 games I saw he was well off last year's form. He did have a major injury. I am taking faith in the fact he is still in the squad somewhere.

As for the rest of the team. Elford/Tighe and Gordon/Coote should be swapping through out the game. I don't rate the Sharks this year slow backs new 1/2's etc. We should still win. If Graham plays Cooper will go to the Centre's

If Elliot brings Graham into the side at the last minute, and switches Lewis to lock, we have the exciting prospect

of Smith and Cooper in the second row. That pairing will strike fear into the opposition.

As it stands now, we have Waterhouse, Cooper and Smith.

Our backrow should be Pritchard, Cooper and Lewis. Waterhouse was terrible in the trials, and Nathan Smith is just a pussy.

Good side in my opinion. It won't hurt Wade Graham to continue to learn his trade for a little while longer the 20's. Maybe Elliot is being a little cautious but it's hard to argue with the 17 selected whom are probably the best 17 at this stage of this season. If things don't go to plan then the likes of Tia Kilifi, Graham and one of two others will no doubt get there opportunities.

The last person we have to worry about not doing his job his Shane Elford who is a true pro. There may be others who let us down but not Shane. Had a couple of lean seasons with us, mainly thru injury, before re-establishing with the Tigers and then the ESL. Would have been too risky in my opinion to throw Tia Kilifi into the fray so early in the season as he too has many injuries so early in his career and is still learning his craft.

Plus we have to justify Elford as our Marquee signing for 2009.

Well it certainly would have been nice to recruit a few more high profile players to the club for this season but let's face it the management and coaching staff have put all there faith in our juniors so let's hope they deliver.

odds for the game tab

cronulla 1.40
penrith 2.50

cronulla -7.5 1.90
penrith +7.5 1.90

i like penrith with the 7.5 as these 2 teams last 2 games have been close

I wouldn't back the Sharks at $1-40 and couldn't back the Panthers at $2-50 so where does that leave me.

Put the rent on the first favourite in Harold Park on Friday night.

Zelda's tipped me some nag in the third at Rosehill on the weekend. On centrebet fixed betting in pre post markets it's $31-00. No one needs to know the name of the horse as I don't want to be the subject of abuse if it meet's some misfortune in running. I intend throwing a lazy $20-00 each way on it as she owes me big time.
