Great idea by the tigers.

That is the type of program that makes you want to be a NRL season ticket holder. I've been a member of Souths for four years and it is the best investment I do every year.

I cannot imagine my life with out the NRL. It is great to know that every second week I can go out to watch my team run around and I have my guaranteed seats to every game.

I look at it as a getting behind the club too, even though I have no chance to go to all of the games.

I certainly could get to more if the whole season was set, but that is another issue.

Same, I have very little chance to go to more than one or two a year but still support the club financially. A set season would mean 5 or 6 games for me.

Was the same when I lived in the UK.

You can't complain about what's wrong at your club if you aren't willing to put in in some way or other.

This is where playing games on the road can become a big plus for membership to new areas. Either half of Sydney has moved to Perth recently or the South's memberships are selling well here as I have seen heaps of cars with Rabbitohs stickers on them. Clubs could boost their memberships by 10%+ by taking one or two games to a city with no NRL team every year and really marketing themselves to fans of that city.

Absolutely. I got a Sharks membership when they played here in Adelaide in support of the decision (turned out they were lieing bastards about the three years though).

Can't believe Storm's memberships are not on sale yet?! You'd think after last season they would want to be flogging memberships and trying to rebuild some bridges.

The reason for that is the new CEO has come in and has stripped back all membership packages to nothing and given them a complete overhaul. With all the sh*t that went down this year not everything that was offered at the start the season to members was put forward so they sent out a member survey a couple months back getting all members feedback/opinions and rebuilt the packages from there. From all reports they'll be out early in the new year.

I think they're much better off taking a bit more time reworking the packages and giving more value for money as opposed to rushing them out half arsed and offering up the same old from this season. You mentioned they should be building bridges which i totally agree with and a good way of doing that is giving the members more reason to renew. Obviously the hard core year in year out members will renew regardless, i'm more talking about borderline cases who arent sure or new members altogether.

I think the NRL should run a campaign with all the celebrities that love the NRL and feature them in a NRL advert. Russell Crowe at Souths, Jennifer Hawkins at Newcastle, Laine Beachley at Manly. Have 1 celeb from each team all in one advert promoting NRL MEMBERSHIP.

Great way to get those fringe fans involved in our game. The younger generation really look up to these celebs and I have no doubt the NRL could double their membership in a couple of years.

Hugh Jackman would probably be a better option for Manly.

Australians don't care about Australian celebrities either, they care more about American celebrities,Jennifer Hawkins,Laine Beachly etc etc would do absolutely nothing for membership drive because nobody cares about them.

Pretty sure they do.. It might just seem that way because there are so few true Australian celebrities.

The NRL should seriously considering doing it, rugby league has got a very lower-class almost scummy image right with the majoritiy of people. Having a few models, actors, T.V personalities and other 'respected' sporting stars like Mark Webber would do wonders for their image.
